YouTube House (Chapter 2)
Carrie woke up to the smell of food being cooked. She couldn’t even remember the last time she had eaten something. Her stomach growled, telling her that it had been quite a while. She looked around the room to find that she was alone. After a few seconds of just lying on the sofa, a sharp pain ripped across her head. She wasn’t sure if it was the beginning of a migraine or just a splitting headache.
“I’ll see if she’s awake.” Someone was outside the door of the room she was in. The door opened quietly, and the sound of light footsteps followed. Carrie put her hand up to her head, finding that it was covered in guaze and taped up. She couldn’t remember the injury to her head, so she went to pull it off, but a hand grabbed hers to stop her from taking it off.
She looked up to find the green-eyed boy looking down at her. “Leave it.” His voice was quiet & soothing. Carrie knew in that moment that she was safe. The boy let go of her hand and came round to the other side of the sofa, so he was looking right at her.
“How are you feeling?”
“Head hurts.”
“I bet, yours was the worst one out of all of us.”
“Who are you? What do you mean the worst one?”
“Oh of course! I’m PJ, been here 12 days now. I think. There are 11 others here; we’ve all been here for different amounts of time. You are the 13th to arrive. We all have a scar on the side of our heads, apart from Ethan, but yours was the only one that was still bleeding when I got to it.”
"Oh okay." Carrie looked at him for a minute, she was sure she had seen him before being here. Wherever here was.
Carrie started to say something else, but someone else came into the room stopping her in her tracks. She shifted her head towards the door and saw one of the girls that was around her when she first got here.
"PJ, food's ready."
"Okay thanks Dodie." He looked back to Carrie and offered his hand out to her. "Come on." Carrie went to take his hand and started to sit up, but the sharp pain ripped across her head making her wince. PJ noticed instantly and put his hand behind her head, helping her sit up slowly.
Carrie swung her legs over the side of the sofa once she had managed to sit up properly, and leant forward slightly. Why was breathing so difficult? The injury was on her head. The girl PJ had called Dodie came over and sat on the other side of her. "Are you going to be ok?"
"Yea, just need a minute." Carrie said breathlessly. Dodie took one of her hands and PJ took the other, ready to help her up when she was ready.
A few moments later, breathing became easier and the spots before her eyes faded. Carrie looked up and nodded, ready to stand up and get some food. PJ and Dodie gripped her hands and pulled her up off the sofa, quickly putting their other hands round her waist before she fell down again.
"I'll be okay in a minute."
"Until then, we'll help. You can trust us. All of us." They went out into the hall and turned down a corridor, where more people were going. Carrie was still relying on PJ and Dodie to help her and stop her from dropping to the floor. A little way down the corridor, they turned into a room where quite a large group of people were chatting to each other.
The three other girls Carrie had seen and seven other boys were there. PJ could see that Carrie was still a little weak, so he held onto her tighter while Dodie pulled out a chair to put her in. They carefully sat her in it, whilst she concentrated on trying to breathe normally again. How could an injury to her head have done all this? A few moments later, once PJ had checked Carrie was alright, the other ten people turned to look at her.
PJ stayed by Carrie's side as Dodie went to stand with the others, so PJ could tell Carrie who everyone was. "I'll go from left to right." Carrie nodded slightly, but he didn't seem to notice. "You've met Dodie, then there's Bethan, Luke, Emma, Jack, Louise, Dan, Phil, Gary, Pete and Ethan." Each of them responded with a smile, wave or 'hey'. "Everyone, Carrie." He had definitely done this before. Carrie noticed that on the side of everyone else's head was a scar. PJ was right, the only one that didn't have one, was Ethan. Lucky him. Hers hurt like hell.
Everyone sat round the table, seemingly in designated places, when a quiet whirring noise broke the silence. The middle of the table lowered for a few seconds, then rose again with 13 plates of food with names by them. They all took their own plate and seemed to get exactly what they wanted. How did whoever made it know what each person liked? Intolerances and vegan or vegetarian included. Of course the others had been here longer than Carrie had, but even she got what she liked. It was almost as if all of them being here was planned.

YouTube House (Chapter 1)
Carrie was lying on the floor of a hallway. She slowly opened her eyes, to find that the world was blurry. It took a few moments before her eyes settled down and the room came into focus. She was staring up at an old-looking ceiling. She tried to move so she could get up, but her whole body ached with a dull pain. So she gave up trying to move, and just lay on the floor trying to figure out where she was and how she got there. Louise came down from her room with the intentions of getting some breakfast, but she stopped on the stairs when she saw someone lying in the hall. By what she could see, the girl lying on the floor wasn’t injured. Louise turned around to get the other girls, but they were already awake and coming out of their rooms. “There’s another girl lying in the hall,” Louise said hurriedly going back towards the stairs. “Is she alive?” Emma questioned. “I think so,” Louise replied. The four of them scampered down the stairs and knelt around the girl, unsure if she was awake or not. Carrie had seen someone coming down the stairs out of the corner of her eye, but they had disappeared the moment she blinked. She rolled her head so she was looking towards the stairs, but the small movement hurt her head and her vision went black for a few seconds. When she could see again, there were four figures coming down the stairs towards her. She felt like she needed to run, but she was frozen to the spot. Hopefully the people were there to help her. “Hang on, none of us actually know what to do,” Bethan said. “PJ does,” Dodie said. “He helped all of us.” All four looked at each other for a second, before Dodie got up and went to get PJ. Even if he didn’t know what to do, he was the best at dealing with any injuries. They looked back to the one on the floor, and dared to touch her arm to see if she was actually awake. Her eyes flickered and her arm flinched a little at the touch, but nothing else followed. Dodie came back a few moments later, with PJ in tow. The rest of the boys had heard something going on, so they followed behind PJ to see what was happening. The only one missing was Ethan, as usual. The boys were taken aback at the sight of a new girl lead on the floor, but they had no idea what to do about it. PJ knelt by her and tried to get her attention. He looked straight into her open eyes and said “What’s your name?” Carrie saw one of the people around her leave and come back with someone else, and she felt someone touch her arm but didn’t dare to move too much. When her eyes focused again, there was a boy with green eyes in front of her. His mouth moved, but all she caught was ‘name’. What he must have said was easy to figure out. She took a breath in and tried to speak, but no sound came out. She managed to mouth what her name was, and hoped that he could lip-read. The girl lead on the floor tried to say what her name was, but all she could do was mouth it. PJ hoped it was right. “Carrie?” She gave a small nod before closing her eyes again. Whatever had happened to her had weakened her. “She’s passed out,”PJ said. He carefully rolled her over slightly and gently picked her up, then took her into the living room and lay her down on a sofa. Louise grabbed a blanket and draped it over her, whilst PJ rolled Carrie’s head to the side to find a wound behind her hair, and it was still bleeding. All of the others went back upstairs, leaving PJ & Louise to sort out Carrie's injury. Pete lingered for a moment, before dismissing the idea that he may have previously known Carrie. As he left, Ethan passed him to see what was going on. Poking his head round the living room door answered all of his questions. The thirteenth person was in the house. PJ had cleaned and bandaged Carrie’s wound as best as he could, but there was little else he could do. Both Louise and PJ knew that all Carrie needed now, was sleep. She would have one hell of a headache when she woke up later.
