She refused to look up. So caught up in her new found self hatred she didn't even notice the gesture. Fingers slowly uncurled from GLaDOS's leg, left to drape at her side. She was silent. Rigid. Only the small splatters of the liquid hitting the ground were there to announce the tears.
This...was not a familiar function. The AI could handle stubbornness, agression, rebellion, even idiotic shows of disrespect--but not even the Mute had allowed her emotions to show through in this way. Some of the other humans easily gave into the gesture when under immense pain or loss, but this younger bot wasn't in any visible pain nor loss she had noticed prior--
In humans not influenced by testing, the reaction meant a slew of things, making it difficult to pin a specific reason or cause to the little android as it was...not human to begin with. Acted as one often. But still a product of engineering. The hand in its hair brushed through the smooth length now, as an attempt at comfort instead of simple acknowledgement, remaining silent.
Curiosity stared angrily at her feet; obviously loathing herself at the moment. She gripped tighter at the android's leg, muttering another sorry, before falling into silence with the android.
A slow, forced exhale was her attempt to collect her patience for the child, conceding in the small gesture of unfolding her arms to place a hand on its head, gentle. Acknowledgement.
"... Wait no, talk to me..." She inched closer, wrapping her arms around GLaDOS's leg. "Please? Please talk to me? I'm sorry! I didn't mean it. Are you mad at me now? I'll listen." She buried her face in her thigh. "Please talk to me..."
Nope. Silent treatment.
"..." However, the slightest frown overtook her stubborn expression, sparing the child a glance.
