Some honest thoughts on custom t-shirt printing...
I’ve had the pleasure -- if you can call it that -- of ordering T-shirts from ooshirts 3 times to this day. 2 out of 3 times the order came in later than their "guarenteed" date. (You can see my previous review(s) in the #review tag.) (Most important to note is that if something goes wrong in their factory, i.e. they did not have a certain t-shirt in stock, and as a result will delay your order, the company will not contact you.) This third time is the only time the order came in on time (early!?) in just barely a week (granted only 4 shirts were in the order)!
The ink for the screenprinting seems to have changed in between my first (2015) and second (2016) order: from a slightly puffy, glossy ink to a flat, matte ink. Seems like the matte ink is here to stay now, if anyone cares about that. I personally am fine with either, though the matte one *feels* like it will be more permanent?
The printers also don't seem to be the very best at aligning things in the middle as the prints always somehow look a little aligned to one side or the other.
The "get permission before printing" is a bit of a waste of time for those who know how to design/submit their image. All that comes back is a rather version of your design cropped to the last colored pixel at the sides. Some constructive feedback: show a preview of the image on the T-shirt because sizing can be difficult to judge.
This time I tried a different T-shirt: Gildan Ultra Cotton T-shirt (Unisex) as opposed to the default (cheaper) Gildan Cotton T-shirt. Honestly the difference is very little, with the Ultra Cotton just mildly thicker fabric. These shirts always seem to run big for a small person. The difference between size small and medium seems to only be no more than an inch in the pictured measurements. 18 inches across at the bottom, 25 inches long from front-collar to bottom of shirt, and 17 inches across the shoulder (flat). As a tiny person, every measurement especially the vertical length could stand to lose quite a bit of fabric. The women's fit T-shirts is definitely better for the petite.
The Nutshell: Overall rating of ooshirts: 3/5 Pros: Cheap; Shipping comes with tracking Cons: Bad at communication; Delivery date is not as guaranteed; Printing result is meh
Overall rating of Gildan T-shirts: 2/5 Pros: Durable, Cheaper Cons: Unisex is too big; Not a soft, smooth, comfy fabric
