Mmmmmmmmm so not even the Heart Pirates tag is safe from this current chapter’s bullshit (I shouldn’t be surprised really, yet somehow I am) but while I’m not going to get into the spoilers or anything, I am going to address something I’ve seen a few people imply or even straight-up say, as it’s an argument I’ve had to endure for far too fucking long.

“Oh, the Heart Pirates are surely weak because we haven’t actually seen them fight!”

Hey, you know what other crew we haven’t really seen fight, but no one questions their strength or power? The fucking Red-Hair Pirates. We saw Lucky Roo shoot a guy and Benn beat the crap out of some mountain bandits in Romance Dawn. That’s it. Hell, Whitebeard even mocks Rockstar because he’d never heard of him! But no one can (or should) try to claim that Shanks is the only powerful one on that crew. They are the crew of an Emperor of the Sea and that automatically gives clout, even to a newbie like Rockstar.

Now, I’m not saying the Hearts are as strong as the Red-Hair Pirates; what I’m saying is that screen time does not equal strength. But we do have evidence that they’re not weak. Bepo, Shachi, and Penguin remained standing and conscious when Rayleigh unleashed his Conqueror’s Haki back in Sabaody. This was before the fucking timeskip, remember? And then there’s the fact that the crew helped keep Jack and the Beast Pirates at bay during Zou. Or how about how they were willing to rush Big Mom with the Kid Pirates to protect their captain? And don’t try to use the time Shachi, Penguin, and Bepo got captured as an indicator of weakness - we’ve seen powerful characters get captured before, and Hawkins’ powers were pretty much designed for taking hostages.

Yes, the Hearts can be comical, and besides Law we don’t have any confirmed Devil Fruit users, but I’m just so fucking tired of people going “Law’s the only powerful one on the crew!” or “The Hearts are useless!” We don’t see 90% of the other Worst Generation’s crews in action but they don’t get nearly the same crap.

So just shut the fuck up already about them being weak. Regardless of how strong the captain is, weak crews don’t survive that far into the New World. They are the crew of the Surgeon of Death. Law absolutely loves his nakama, and they love him back, and you had better believe they would have been training as hard as the Straw Hats to help him achieve his dream.
