Why I like Operation L.O.V.E:

1. The music, I constantly have "They're Wrong and We're Right" stuck in my head.

I’m always saying how much I fucking LOVE One Piece, and how I’ve been reading the new chapter weekly religiously for... 13 years now? It’s the only series I’ve loved so much for so long, the only series I will drop all the money on for merch and books and everything.

There are so, SO many reasons I love One Piece beyond compare, SO many reasons I completely stand behind saying Eiichiro Oda is the best storyteller I’ve ever seen (and I mean that in any media, I don’t care if it’s books, movies, TV shows, I don’t care how fancy and famous the writer is, Oda is better and I plan to eventually prove it with my OP manifesto).

But the simplest way to say why it’s so goddamn amazing is this: I have read this series countless times, individually as the chapters are released, rereading the manga every time a new English volume is released, rereading the entire series periodically, watching the anime, rewatching the anime, reading the extra information...

I know what’s going to happen because I’ve experienced it many times. And yet, even after 13 years, I still find hidden little easter eggs in the art I never noticed before; I still notice sly little connections of the plot casually done in tiny little side panels; I still enjoy the reveals of plot that were shocking when we first found them-- and, more than anything, it still fucking gets me EVERY TIME I REREAD when certain scenes or characters appear. Like the ones referenced above, which any OP reader/viewer should recognize (although I tried to keep them from being overtly spoilery for people not yet at those parts).

Just. Fucking. I cannot with One Piece. I just cannot. This series is so fucking amazing. It’s my dream to visit Japan someday not only because I’ve always wanted to but there are also One Piece places I totally want to visit because no series has ever been so meaningful to me for so long and so consistently as this one has, and honestly, I don’t think any other series ever will.

I love One Piece so much I’m not even going to apologize for the long post. Maybe someone will read this and give it a chance. If you love series that are layered, have really great characters who are multi-faceted and continue to grow, if you like plots that keep finding a way to surprise you or make you guess or still can be interesting even if you guessed what was coming, if you like stories that will literally do all of this (as it did for me, and I mean literally, not misusing literally, like actually literally I did all these things:) cry, laugh, sit on the edge of your seat, jump up and down out of excitement, have to hug a pillow, yell at the screen, be struck silent, and more... Then, my friend, I really think you should give One Piece a shot.

There’s a reason OP is the bestselling manga series in history in the entire world. There’s a reason it won a Guinness Book of World Records for that. It’s because it’s fucking amazing.
