Was thinking about this post again and started thinking about nicknames for characters like the Innkeeper, her child, and her sister the Shopkeeper, as well as Grillby.
So for Innkeeper I got Rosemary. Sage calls her Aunt Rosemary or Aunt Rosie.
For her child, I got Alba. In Latin, it apparently means “dawn” or “white.”
And for the Innkeeper’s sister, the Shopkeeper, I got Violet. Sage and Alba call her Auntie Vi.
For Grillby, I was thinking a nickname could be Pyra or Kindle. As is the habit for Sage, he calls him Uncle Grillby, but he’s just Mr.Grillby to Ivory.
Mettaton can be Aurelia, which is apparently Latin for golden—or depriving from the word aureus. Or maybe we can just call him Aureus.
So far, for Othertale nicknames, we got Color (Sans + souls), Shade (Gaster), Sage (Papyrus), Ivory (Undyne), Amber (Alphys), Rosemary/Aunt Rosie (Innkeeper), Alba (Innkeeper’s child), Violet/Auntie Vi (Shopkeeper, Rosemary’s sister and Alba’s ‘bio’ aunt), and Aurelia or Aureus for Mettaton.
Asgore can be Cobalt, Toriel can be Opal, and Gerson can be Sienna.
