Must be pretty embarrassing being an Optimus x bumblebee shipper after all the recent father and son stuff. I Hate that ship it’s so fucking strange, I don’t give a shit if I get hate for that. It’s weird. And I’ve already seen a few people of twitter complaining about them having a father and son relationship today after the last skybound issue, like what do you expect they’ve always had that kind of relationship and Optimus has literally been grieving his son the entire issue, let him have his moment with his son.

I personally hate "pro-ship" culture and would probably be considered an "anti" as a result because I don't think writing incest fanfiction is queer praxis and think it's fine for people to have boundaries regarding "problematic" content, but that being said: there is literally nothing wrong with either opbee or cygate as ships, chill out.

I wish certain people would leave TF "proshippers" alone and go back to their online spaces full of self-righteous teenage doxxers. Literally the main reason why we don't have people over here doxxing each other over OpBee and similar stuff is because the TF fandom mainly consists of adults who don't have time and energy for fandom "activism" and are here for, let's see...📜🧐 Uh-oh, FUN! 📜😦👓🤏

If you have so much free time and are willing to help victims of SA, go help them remove recordings of their assault off of porn websites and help them raise money for a lawyer. Being a smarty-pants under a picture of bayverse Optimus and Bumblebee making out sloppy style doesn't help anybody.

This is kinda just screaming into the void and the overall gist can be generally applied to any fandom atp but...

I've been a fan of transformers since childhood, but I stopped following the fandom and the media in like. 2017? So it kinda feels like I got on the last chopper outta 'nam cause I wasn't around to witness the voltron poison spread into this specific fandom (and I know ship wars and discourse has been around since forever). It's just really sad to see how vocal everyone is (or maybe not everyone, hard to tell) about their hatred for "disgusting" "immoral" people who just enjoy fictional 'problematic' ships.

A previous anon said it better than me but what someone enjoys in fiction is generally not indicative of their attitude towards that subject irl. Noncon, incest, etc, what have you. But I get that most active fans now are children/young adults (given the target audience of most of the shows, this is fair) so everything will seem black and white to them. I can admit that I was like that too once lol.

But... these younger fans/antis have *got* to understand that "incestuous" ships like sunnysides have been around for decades. Shipping the gestalts together, the trines together, etc. has been around for decades. (Personally I don't understand how the gestalts and trines could be considered incest but again. I left the fandom 7 years ago so I might be missing something). They've been around since before most of these kids were even born. The earliest surviving tf fic on ao3 I could find is from 2002. You may be able to drive some of these "disgusting" people off the internet, but not everyone. You have *got* to learn to live and let live, and to curate your own space.

To be fair, I haven't been following any of the shows after TFP, but I just wanted to tack on that frankly, I think the anti sentiment has gone overboard with some of these ships that are considered so 'taboo'. Sunnysides and ships along those lines, I can understand. But MegOP is... abusive?? MegaStar is abusive?? OPBee is pedo and incest (how???)??? It just gives me flashbacks to people saying that whirlgate is pedo...

Idk. bAcK iN mY dAy people were civil and knew how to use the mute and block functions. Now, kids (and some adults) these days think it's okay to send thinly veiled (or not veiled at all) death threats over robots. It's just sad. I'm kinda glad I left when I did.

I’m very much someone who’s profic, but I CANNOT stand people who whitewash or misgender characters or ship canon lesbian/gay characters with men/women*

*(Hetero headcanons are still headcanons, if a character has not been explicitly stated to be straight, then they’re free rein baby. I’m only saying this because I don’t want one of those whiny “I can’t find ANY straight fics” or “so you can headcanon a straight character as gay/bi but I can’t headcanon a canonically queer character as straight?” people to derail this confession.)

I do have ships that I dislike, but the most I’ll do is block the tag (it’s pretty rare for me to do that much, usually I just roll my eyes and scroll). I think more people should make use of the tag blocker thing. Don’t want to see Terran x Terran? Block the tag. Don’t want to see OpBee? Block the tag.

Personally, I don’t care for OpBee. I like the platonic dad and son (fandom) dynamic, but I don’t dislike people who like it on the basis that they like it, y’know? (Saying that as someone who actually enjoys dad x son/daughter pairings)

Also, Bee is a grown ass man, just because he’s short doesn’t mean he’s a child (TFA!Bee might be a kid, but I haven’t seen the actual series so idk)
