Lessons from Nigerian Contract Monitoring Coalition
#WACMN Regional Forum begins in Accra. Representatives from coalitions in Ghana, Nigeria, Sierra Leone and Liberia are represented at meeting. Practitioners will be exchanging knowledge and experiences about contract monitoring work, including progress, results, challenges and lessons learned. Also representative from Uganda, Zambia and Rwanda from East Africa, and Burkina Faso from Francophone Africa join meeting to engage in knowledge exchange across the region.

The Zambia Public Procurement Monitoring Coalition (ZPPMC) consists of the Zambia Public Procurement Agency (ZPPA), Caritas Zambia, Zambian National Education Coalition (ZANEC), Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA), National Council for Construction, (NCC), Civil Society for Poverty Reduction (CSPR), Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ), Construction Sector Transparency Initiative (CoST), Medicine Transparency Alliance (META) and Transparency International Zambia (TIZ).

One of the biggest achievements of the Partnership is that they were able to give input into the Procurement Law and the Procurement Implementing Rules and Regulations. Several of their suggestions with regards to reporting mechanisms, compensation of monitors, etc, were incorporated.
