Extra Curricular and Clubs: AU F.M., Drama
Major: Special Divisional Major (B.A.)
Born to an immortal god that dealt in souls and precious metals of the earth, it would probably surprise most that what Cori valued most in the world was a good night out, a hiatus from her life on the Isle with her small stoic family. Being demigods, she and Nate never felt particularly in tune with others, even the other fellow children of villains– but with some good substances and even better music, it sometimes didn’t even feel like it mattered. And Cori lived for those moments. That feeling of being connected with everyone around her, forgetting her troubles, losing herself in the overwhelming sensations. But what made a party special was that eventually, the alcohol stopped flowing and the music stopped thumping and everyone went home, and then Cori assumed her usual standoffish evil lackey way of life. After all, in an island prison, there wasn’t much more to aspire to.
Then, the invitation to Auradon University came, and with it came opportunities for more for herself, instead of just helping her father get ahead. And what she really wanted to do was be the life of the party, and not just by dancing on tables or doing a keg stand, but by DJing, handpicking every song to keep everyone’s energy from dwindling and spirits from dipping. And the more she thought about it, the more she realized that music was something that she could spend her whole life focusing on, as long as it led her to every kind of revelry– concerts, bars, festivals, parties, plays. She even realized she had some talent in producing music of her own, and got quite a few hits on her mixes online as soon as she pegged the technology down. However, this pretty much inventing her own program at AU, which Fairy Godmother was surprisingly receptive to. Now, a year later, Cori regretfully finds herself a year behind her brother, but has her own weekly show on AU.fm and a side gig as an event DJ for several bars and parties. Sure, her undergrad classes and her job pretty much leads her to be pretty busy all of the time, but that’s fine for Cori. She doesn’t really need to be around people when she’s not DJing, even though a part of her always yearns for the automatic camaraderie one feels at a party even when she’s not partying hard.
The only part of the Isle she really misses is her connection to her family. Her father is nearly impossible to get in touch with these days, and her own twin is somehow on the fast-track to becoming an Auradonian king. It feels strange to have had her whole life defined by her family and then to suddenly be without them. However, it’s possible that it’s a good thing; outside of the magic barrier on the Isle, Cori’s powers are at her fingertips for the first time. And it’s probably best for everyone that both the Thana twins stay out of her father’s reach with the sinister abilities they had.
positive: composed, self-assured, industrious
negative: aloof, hedonistic, mistrustful
Cori’s nocturnal life, dark family reputation, and tendency to keep to herself and default to indifference has pretty much led her to have a pretty meager love life. Some girls might be ashamed of that, especially with her twin being much the opposite and everyone knowing the story of her father and step-mother, but Cori doesn’t really mind. Romances are her least favorite movies anyways.
Maybe it came with having abilities that broke the so-called rules of the universe, even by Auradonian standards, but Cori doesn’t really believe there’s any rhyme or reason to life. She doesn’t believe in karma, destiny, or luck, or superstitions. To her, life is chaotic, meaningless, and always subject to change depending on your willingness to change it.
Being a frequent partier and a sudden disc jockey translates into various skills for Cori. From keg tapping, drink mixing, helping people recover from overdoses and alcohol poisoning, to having a playlist for anything and everything, she can be a lifesaver for some unlucky party hosts, amateur performers, or bar owners. And for some girls, she’s pulled them away from shady guys or unguarded drinks, put makeup back on them after they cried it off. This has easily kept her in party invitations for years and with good connections to the art and music scene around Auradon City. It’s not exactly heartfelt friendship, but it does usually mean she never goes anywhere in AC without already knowing someone there.
The Crepehanger: Twins to the Lord of the Underworld, Hades, The Reveller and The Crepehanger are more his lackeys then children. Often sent around the Isle to do his dirty work, the two have learned to work so well together they don’t even have to think about it. While they didn’t like their life on The Isle, there wasn’t much else out there, until recently. Now in Auradon, The Reveller wants to leave all life of crime behind and have a bit of fun, but that means pulling away from their sibling, and The Crepehanger is not too keen about that.
The Lothario: The Reveller has been a constant at the Alpha Sigma Phi parties, which means they’ve run into The Lothario a number of times. Not two words have been spoken between the pair, but The Reveller has noticed how many girls The Lothario has charmed into their room. The Reveller finds it honestly pathetic how many girls are so blind to The Lothario’s charms, and has spent that past few parties trying to crush their game just for the fun of it. They’re not sure if The Lothario has caught on yet, but it’s gotta be soon considering The Reveller can only spill so many beers on The Lothario’s conquests before it gets obvious.
The Dirtbag: The Dirtbag is a known asshole. To everyone. Except maybe The Reveller. Something about The Reveller has always softened The Dirtbags exterior, and their relationship has become almost sibling like. While The Reveller has a twin, they’re relationship is more best friend, duo, then sibling. But The Dirtbag looks out for them, protects them if they need it, and has no problem putting down someone who might be a threat. Everyone is expecting the two to become a thing, but both will tell you their relationship isn’t like that.
