Matt looked absolutely ridiculous. He couldn’t see it himself of course, but he could hear the snickers his fellow survivors gave him as he walked through Haven. He could hear the stopped heart beats of people who were shocked to see his face here. Even his radar sense confirmed it as mind mapped out the forms of fingers pointing him out as people whispered about him to their friends. Whispers which he, of course, heard every word of.
He grimaced. Maybe it was too much to hope that people would just forget that Matt Murdock was outed as Daredevil in the press. Maybe it was too much to pray that people would not question how a blind guy could possibly survive the apocalypse this long without being Daredevil. Maybe Matt was asking for too much to even attempt to be Matt Murdock in a settlement filled with superheroes who knew better.
Well, Matt didn’t care. Call him nostalgic but a part of him missed living his double life of Matt Murdock and Daredevil. He hadn’t been able to properly live as Matthew Michael Murdock since the apocalypse first happened. Ever since that faithful day he had been living in constant Daredevil mode just to fend for his life. A part of him missed... his more mundane identity. Now that he was in a settlement that was not covered in zombies from head to toe, he felt like he should be allowed to be Matt again.
He was however, extremely thankful that he was able to get cleaned up when he entered Haven. It was a huge weight off his shoulders to not have to deal with his own body oder anymore.
His original glasses were cracked and falling apart. Now, he had a new pair that both protected his eyes and announced to the world he was blind as a bat. Only a few hours ago his sight cane was covered in dried zombie guts to accommodate for all the times he used it as a billy club to fight off zombies. It was just cleaned off when entering, but internally he was thankful it even still transformed back into a regular cane at all.
He tapped his cane through Haven, back to playing the role of the normal blind man. It was really only a matter of time till someone came up to him and asked about how someone who was blind could have survived all of this without being Daredevil, and he was not exactly looking forward to that conversation.
