The hands and the eyes of the professional golfers truly amazing to watch. How different is that than painting, well it is different but it is a lot of time and effort and practice in the energy of the body and the mind and the soul. Doing things with mistakes as part of the process is a key to long game progress. You can tell a lot about people in whether they are #defensive or if instead they are #openenergy persons. I always preferred being around people who had something they had practiced a long time and usually they are humbled in a way as they know that it is micro steps and focus over time with a self-regulated desire to keep going. After 8 months of full-time painting of the model at the #artstudentsleagueofnewyork I left acknowledging that it would take 10 years to become the painter I wanted to be. I did finally call myself an #artist at that point. #Victory in #skills and in releasing to being in #process. Keeping the body energy open, but also #protecting it. #interiormaps. “I ceased my tappings around the sand-filled sockets of the skull and wedged myself into a crevice for a smoke. As I tamped a load of tobacco into my pipe, I thought of a town across the valley that I used sometimes to visit, a town whose inhabitants never welcomed me,” Eiseley. I can almost imagine the character ceasing tapping right here in the middle of this, more work painted in Brazil. The key to making 40 of these in 2-3 weeks is getting started as soon as I get turpentine. #immersion, directly into the work.
