Opening Day!
They were excited, the building had been finished and they’d hired enough staff to get them started.
Now it was just a matter of opening the doors and seeing how well their newly formed team worked together.
There’s was a big sign over the front doors that read - Sweetest Taste - in orange and green. A small sign attached to the inside of the door held their current hours of operation: Mon-Fri 7am-9pm, Sat & Sun 9am-8pm. Another small sign hung in a window, currently turned so the ‘OPEN’ side faced out.
The front room was decked out with dark hardwood flooring, varnished to perfection. The walls were a dark orange with green trim. Small round tables that could seat a max of 4 comfortably dotted the floor. The tables themselves were made of a silver metal and had latex on the bottoms so they wouldn’t scratch the floor, which they covered in a checker board of light and dark blues. White blooming in their centers as a dish holding salt, pepper, honey, toothpicks, and napkins(serviettes). Surrounding the central tables were four comfortable looking wood and cushioned chairs. The wood lighter in color than the floor and cushions a dark green. The tables along the walls had only two chairs each, again their feet all covered in latex.
The register was along the back wall, hiding the entrance to where all the lovely goodies were made. The long counter showcasing what had been created recently and what was the special of the day. Above and behind the counter hung a large blackboard with various desserts and drink concoctions on it along with their pricing.
Nyx and Crowe had spent most of the day before and the morning baking up the display cases and the first batches of things for the morning crowd. Currently they were instructing their new crew on how and when they were start things for the lunch crowd.
