commonly believed to be mostly female, merpeople reside mainly in any large body of water and are only born in water. they are free to roam around land as long as they dry entirely when leaving the water and they do not get a single drop of water on them when on land. if they do, their tails will sprout, exposing them to anyone around. merpeople possess the power to control water to their favor, however, it can take years for a young merperson to control this power. on land, merpeople are exposed to murder through fire, as it is the only element that can kill them before their natural death. they are ruled, within the ocean, by poseidon’s golden trident. they worship him and the trident like deities. they age in the same time span as humans.
wolves are known mystically as ‘werewolves’, however, now a days they do not like this term. they are born to mostly wolf mothers, as human mothers can not handle the strength of the baby. humans can be bitten into being a wolf, but nearly half of the humans bitten do not survive the transformation. they are free to change into wolf form when they please, and are not controlled by the full moon. however, at a full moon their powers are stronger than usual. they possess the ability of superhuman strength, speed and agility. on top of that, wolves have night vision and heightened smell. wolves are notoriously known for being involved in packs, which can range in size of 2 to 15, but many choose to be a lone wolf as well. they are injured by touching any form of silver, and a silver bullet will end their lives. they age in the same time span as humans.
faeries reside mostly in the faerie realm, where they are safe from the dangers of other creatures. born to mostly faerie parents, faerie children are very weak at the start of their lives and as they grow experience a special connection with the nature of the human world, thus why many faeries choose to live within the human world. faeries are able to create a glamour that makes them appear more human, and they are able to shield themselves from anyone they do not wish to be seen by. faeries are injured when viewing the purposeful death of nature in front of them, but can be killed with iron as it mortally wounds them. faeries are able to control their physical aging but they do not live past 500 human years. once a faeries stops their physical aging they are unable to resume it.
witches are creatures that are not necessarily born with powers. though some are, others study magic in order to be granted powers, however very few succeed in this manner. born witches are unable to control their powers when young and usually end up in a lot of trouble because of it, as they mature they gain control over their powers. the powers of witches range with their concentration of magic and their level of skill. all witches are known to make portals, potions and spells to help them with everyday needs. witches are known to hang in covens for protection, but these are usually made up of family members. once a witch reaches maturity they are able to create a familiar, a shifter creature that takes the form of both human and animal. when creating a familiar, witches are affected in different ways including a drastic change to their immune system and a momentary drain of their powers. so long as they are both in good balance with each other, a familiar can live as long as their witch does. familiars have very limited magic of their own that is gifted to them by their witch, and primarily exist as company, aide, and protection. witches can create another familiar if theirs die, however, this takes an extraordinary measure of power. witches can be killed in any way a human can and age the same way as a human does.
angels were once known to be a celestial species of creatures that primarily resided in heaven. created by what humans believe to be god, they were a very powerful species, however, in modern times, angels now walk amongst humans. they are usually gracious and help those in need around them. angels are only born to two angel parents, and have horrible control over their powers until they reach maturity. angels have a grand list of powers which include telekinesis, superhuman strength, healing, empathy, and control over light. angels also have the gift of flight, however, their wings are massive and usually cause structural damage when expanded thus many angels keep them retracted in their backs. angels can not be killed by simplehuman methods, but only through a specific angel blade forged of gold that not many know about. angels are able to control their physical aging but they do not live past 300 human years. once an angel stops their physical aging they are unable to resume it.
demons were once known as satan’s lap dogs that primarily resided in hell. demons were created by what humans believe to be satan in an attempt to push the angels away from human souls, so that the underworld would receive more souls. demons now also walk amongst the humans but rarely gift a soul to satan. they are known to be mischievous, untrustworthy, and play practical jokes at the expense of humans. demons are only born to two demon parents and have very little control over their powers until they reach maturity. they have a range of powers including superhuman strength, telekinesis, the ability to harvest a human soul, teleportation, pyrokinesis, and the control of shadows. demons can be injured with holy water and ultimately killed with a specific weapon forged of iron and salt, however, many do not know of this weapon. demons are able to control their physical aging but they do not live past 300 human years. once a demon stops their physical aging they are unable to resume it.
