GTA FANDOM DRAMA

So you should all know by now that I am pretty prominent in the gta fandom. If not, hello.

So I decided to put in my two cents about the OpenIV drama. If you don’t know what’s going on, Rockstar (but mainly another company I don’t remember the name of that works very closely with them) has decided to put out a cease and desist on the OpenIV mod which allows modders to do basically anything.

The reason they’ve done this, despite what they have said recently, is because they are trying to make more money through micro transactions through GTA online, and some how, boycotting all of the OpenIV mods that are currently operating in GTA IV and GTA V is how they’ll do this.

First of all. This is a super rude thing to just do out of no wear without any warning. I feel sorry for all the mod makers who have been working so hard for no money to make GTA gameplay even better than it already is.

Secondly, Rockstar has been known to be an increasingly stingy company. I think everyone started to realise just this after the dram that went down after GTA IV was released regarding Michael Hollick believing he had been underpaid. Which bothered him more than anyone else because, while Jason Zumwalt did all his dialogue for nothing allegedly and he’s still on good terms with Rockstar which is nice.

However, the thing is that they’ve always kind of been stingy with their money, as though it wasn’t enough to have the second best selling video game of all time, like Jesus guys, where is your gratitude? This leads me into the next point.

Because Rockstar is willing to put their whole reputation on the line (because yes the community is spamming GTA V with negative reviews on steam right now because of this drama in order to gain media attention which thank the lord is actually working) in order to make just a little more money with the micro transactions online. This leads me to believe that the rumours of single player DLC are bullshit at this point. Because the only thing Rockstar cares about it making money, (and let's be honest, the GTA fandom consists if way too many twelve year old twats who don't give a flying fuck about the story and characters like people like myself do. So what's the point in even putting it out at this point) and they don't care about their loyal and adoring fan base.

So at this point, I do believe that a GTA V’s popularity is on the decline, along with any hope of single player DLC or even another grand theft auto game anytime in the next decade.

Well, that’s my two cents. How does everyone else feel about the OpenIV thing?
