On this day in 1976, Yoni Netanyahu Z"L tragically lost his life while leading the legendary Israeli commando raid on Entebbe, in which 102 hostages were rescued and brought safely back to Israel. Yoni, brother of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was, is and will always remain a true Israeli hero, forever in our hearts and minds.

Raid on Entebbe
The most daring hostage rescue in Israel’s history told like never before.
No one expected us to take the risk, but 40 years ago on July 3, IDF set out on it’s most ambitious rescue mission to date: releasing 103 hostages in 90 minutes.
Terrorists had hijacked a plane and diverted it to Entebbe, Uganda, where they held Jewish and Israeli passengers hostage.
IDF soldiers managed to reach the airport undetected, and take the terrorists by surprise. Today, Operation Entebbe remains a timeless example of our soldiers determination.
