10:45pm. It was smart to go to the store, Lina thought as she walked past the mostly empty aisles. Not as crowded but enough people around to keep anyone from doing anything stupid and enough exits for a hasty get away. Her boots audibly clicked against the linoleum as she finally found what she was looking for. Her target, an ex-SHIELD agent who’d found a small piece of what she wanted. She wasn’t stupid enough to sneak up on him and end up with a broken arm so she made sure he saw her as she approached. It was only a brief thought on how to play it, she could play up being a pretty wounded bird, but that would likely backfire and he would assume she was a trap and seek to either ditch or kill her. It was better to just be upfront.

“I need help. If you want to put a bullet in my head later, I’ll fight you on it, but I wouldn’t blame you. I just ask that you listen to what I have to say first,” she said quietly as she reached to the shelf and grabbed a jar, looking at it as if debating a purchase.

Prentiss looked over the info they had and back at man through the two way mirror. Things didn’t add up. Riley Burke was was honestly squeaky clean. Too squeaky as Garcia described it, like he popped up on the grid out of nowhere. Neighbors didn’t have much to say but what they did was nice. He didn’t match the profile, physically fit in a way that didn’t need to use the means their unsub had for dominance. Then again it could have been a pattern born from when he wasn’t in the same shape. Behaviors solidified at a young age where harder to break. Emily took off her blazer before entering, opting for strategy of going in initially with less power to lead to being underestimated as a woman before she’d spring the information they had on him. It was obnoxious how well that worked in her favor in the interrogation room, sometimes going so far as doing a bit with JJ to seem ever less threatening. If Burke was their man he’d want to try and take control with Prentiss flipped things on him. 

“Mr. Burke, thank you for coming in,” she said as she sat, well aware that there hadn’t been much of an option given to him. Her expression was serious as she sat down, not looking up from the file she opened when she spoke to him again. “I’m SSA Prentiss, I’m going to ask you a few questions.” She paged through the slim pages on Riley Burke like there was some prompt she was searching for. “You’re a carpenter yes? Can you tell me how long you’ve been living in this area?” She looked up to make full eye contact for the first time to gauge his reaction.

The first week had passed relatively easy, and while Lina wondered if there were people hunting for her, if she’d really be safe here, she had no desire to cause any noise by checking. As days passed, she grew restless, in part because there was nothing she could do while stuck in the cabin and so she’d settled for going through and cleaning his weapons, pulling each one apart and being more thorough that she needed to be for things that weren’t dirty to begin with.

“Is there something you find so amusing?” she asked to Riley, not bothering to look up from her work.

001. .   .   .   kills the spider I some how imagine Riley having to pick her up and carry her away before she puts a hole in his wall trying to kill one. lmfao she’s so extreme.

002. .   .   .   proposed Lina but she’s gonna say it like a joke and his eyebrows are gonna shoot half way up his face while he tried to figure out if she means it or not.

She might think she’s gonna hold off and win this and push him into being the one to give in, but she’s gonna do it, because she’s too impatient and honestly she just want to kiss him so bad. If she ends up shoving him up against a wall no one will be shocked.

I think at first it’s gonna be Lina because she lives to rile him up, but then it’s honestly free game and yeah, she gonna make him beg once in a while, but i’m sure he’ll get back at her, making her just as desperate, and she’ll be crawling into his bed seeking his comforts. 

005.  .   .   .   would leave the other Lina might, if she found out Hydra was getting close and she thought she could lead them away from him. She would do that, or anything to protect him, because she’d do anything to keep him from getting hurt because of her ever again.

006.  .   .   .   is more jealous Ahhh! Probably Lina, but we haven’t gotten to see this in action yet. gotta put them in a scenario to find out.

I imagine sometimes Riley comes home to her laying on the floor eating his hot chips and also feeding them to his dog because she knew nothing about how to care about animals. She’ll feel so bad when he starts telling her how bad they are for the poor thing xD

008.  .   .   .   sends weird texts at 3 AM Lina, like he’s sleeping and she’s just laying in best sending him suspiciously dirty text and then the next day just be like ‘hmm, must’ve been delirious with exhaustion.

010.   .   .   .  said i love you first Oopppphhhh.. uh, it’s gonna be Lina, but while he’s sleeping or at least she thinks he is. And she’ll whisper it, probably feeling a little down on herself because she doesn’t know he loves her back. this is fine.

Lina licked her lips as she looked him over, enjoying the look of him sweaty and dirty and she would have eaten him alive if it wouldn’t have just added another complication to their dynamic. “You’re not scared of fighting a lady, are you?” she asked teasingly as she moved into a defensive stance. “I promise not to beat you up too badly,” she tipped her head back and added, “Unless you ask me nicely.”
