Tee-Hee !
Once Upon A Time in Surin #1
Warning : long post, catch?
This post is dedicated to my strong-full of inspiration- bold-warmth-lovely friend, Andhina Ratri, who is passionately living Indonesia Mengajar for a year in Kutamakmur, North Aceh.
I didn’t used to remember and post about my kind of itinerary and budget of my journey, but as she asked me to, so here’s a simple list of my latest trip to Thailand as frankly that was an purposeful trip so I don’t think these lists work *peace hand*
First and foremost, all we need to get somewhere is transportation. Regarding to low budget so my team booked seats on Air-Asia, which costed
Round-trip airplane ticket : IDR 1.600.000 (direct flight from Jakarta)
Round-trip airplane baggage : IDR 360.000 (20 kg each flight)
Actually me and my team spent 10 days in Surin Province, 6 hours away from Bangkok so I guessed I won’t need much of money for living there, besides whole accommodation and meals (include breakfast, lunch also diner) are fully provided by the event organizer buuuuutttttt vice versa *cry* it took couple days till my tongue accept Thai’s taste wholeheartedly that I cherished every single step to reach Seven Eleven that turned into Heaven Eleven. Well, I should thank my green tea sip and honey-lemon concoction every morning too for keeping my belly full so I didn’t suffered that much from hunger (Yes, I brought ‘em all along as they’re where all the magic begins). Oh and 4 sachets of ‘boncabe’ (Indonesian’s savory chili powder ever) as well. You’ll discover an unique taste in every Thai’s dish, it’s a ‘leaf that change the world, yeah I named it myself because it dominated the taste when it’s in, even t’was stronger than basil leaves ever :(
Heaven eleven price list
Currency rate : 1 THB = IDR 380-420
Small cup of Thai tea/coffee/chocolate : 14 THB

The last thing I bought in Surin is SIM card but it got arduous because the seller can’t speak English that well so we need our liaison to accompany and talk to ‘em. Yeah actually there’s user manual but written in Abugida so it just won’t work on me, us.

Arrived in Bangkok, we lived in a hostel named “The City @ Fifty” hostel in an alleyway so our big bus couldn’t reach-slash-we need to walk form main way while bringing our-not-so-little belongings haha
