Being observant was one of Frei’s many traits. Being a quiet type and preferring to keep to yourself means you get to see a lot of things people don’t notice. When imprisoned this habit of his got to develop when essentially the whole facility was at a glance, and it was a habit he couldn’t shake even in an unfamiliar place. So here he was, people-watching in an out of the way spot. His eyes landed on a well dressed man, his wardrobe reminding him of some of the employees that would work with him. He didn’t have a shred of nervousness or fear in him however, something Frei could respect.
The rifle he had on him also caught the abnormality’s attention. His own rifle had been snatched away from him upon his arrival, replaced with a little gun that shot pellets. This man’s rifle definitely looked a lot more dangerous than this pellet gun, and he wondered where he could get something like it. It looked well cared for, and unlike anything he had seen before. Frei came to the conclusion that this man had to be a hunter, just like him.
Not one that hunted animals, however.
Freischütz made the decision to directly approach this man, undeterred by the weapon he carried and feeling nothing more than a bit of interest. He silently glided over until he was right beside him, bright blue eyes studying the rifle closely. After a moment, a deep voice with a heavy German accent rang out.
“Where did you get that?”
