“Been way too long since I saw a new face ‘round here.. Howdy! What brings ya’ to Hill Top?”

♫ five times my muse swears it’s not a date, and the one time it maybe is.
The first time it was nothing but an escort to a movie premiere. She was a big star after all, and she’d needed someone to help her to these big red carpet events for safety and protection. More so, she wanted someone she could genuinely feel safe with on and off set or events such as this. They’d already been friends for a while, and she hadn’t even brought up the idea; he’d been the one to offer.
The second time was a ride home. But… Shadow didn’t drive a car. He drove a motorcycle, something which terrified the young starlet and yet, he came prepared with a helmet specifically for her. She wasn’t sure if it could be considered a date or anything because it was just a ride home, nothing more. And yet, with how she held him around the waist and clung to him for dear life as he drove… it was more intimate than she realized. And afterwards, every ride on his motorcycle became less and less intimidating.
The third time he dropped by to check up on her (as he tended to do), and she offered for him to come inside. Much to Minnie’s surprise, he very much did so, and nothing really happened except they sat on her sofa and watched TV, although quietly (Shadow was quite a quiet fellow, something which the mouse didn’t mind–in fact she appreciated it; it was a comfortable silence with him), but it was a nice and peaceful evening, with the occasional talk here and there about little things. When she talked, he genuinely seemed to listen. Minnie liked that. But was it a date? She had no idea at this point.
The fourth time seemed to ring off alarms in her head that she choose to ignore, at least for now. Minnie was getting tired of being rather cooped up inside all the time when she wasn’t filming, and she wanted to have some fun. And she’d just been about to leave when he dropped by again; this time, with a nice summer hat and sun glasses that almost covered up her identity to she could have a nice and fun day out without any distraction, the mouse dragged the hedgehog along with her for a walk. She enjoyed his company and he made her feel safe; and while he didn’t talk much himself, he listened to her when she spoke, and the more time she spent around him, the more open and vulnerable she became, little by little with every moment. Something was starting to change inside her and she wasn’t sure what, but whatever it was… she didn’t mind it.
The fifth time was very well something like a date, she supposed. But only, it wasn’t. Fame and Spotlight could be pressuring and stressful, and when he found her in her home, crying her big pretty eyes out, she threw herself on him and continued to cry. And for a moment he hesitated, but soon he was wrapping his arms around her to pull her in close, and it was in that moment that she knew she loved him, and in many ways always had. But she didn’t know how to say it, the emotions of the stress of her job and lifestyle being too much, and she nearly cried herself to sleep in his arms. She was practically nearly asleep, but he must have thought she was, because he whispered something to her she didn’t expect to her; how he loved her, too. She hadn’t been aware he felt the same, and while dazed and exhausted and nearly asleep from crying, she felt more at peace now—about life, about everything. She hadn’t felt so sure of anything until the moment she responded to him, eyes still shut and a soft, tired smile on her face.
“…I love you, too.”

Maybe it was the atmosphere of the carnival that was making her more ecstatic than usual, or perhaps it was the fact that the mouse had been able to bring Shadow along for the fun, but either way, Minnie had excitedly skipped over to the hedgehog with a pair of ice cream cones in her hand, a big grin plastered on her face.
And while he looked speechless, stunned by her overly excited response, she was quick to respond, “I didn’t know what flavor to get you, so I just got us the vanilla and chocolate swirl cone! They’re really good!”
With a smile, she held out his cone for him, already taking a lick of hers. “I think you’ll really like it! A little sweet treat never hurt anybody, don’t you think?”

Send a 👫 and I’ll write four headcanons I have about our muse’s relationship
1. For starters, Minnie would try to get Shadow to do things with her (shopping, walks, dancing). She wouldn’t try to force him, but she would try to gently give him a push to be more open and have more fun with her.
2. In contrast to that, Shadow would go along with it most of the time to appease her, because he wants nothing more then to see her happy. If it'll keep her smiling he'll do it, as much as he would prefer not to do certain things.
3. Minnie always hates to make people worry about her, but she hates making Shadow worried, so if anything is wrong, at the very beginning, she’s too scared. The last thing she wants is to make him worried (knowing what she later is told about him, she doesn’t want to put that burden on him). But they end up more open with each other, so if anything is bothering her, she will tell him.
4. Shadow is protective of her, but learns rather quickly that Minnie is very very very capable of handling herself. She’s the definition of a lady and yet will not hesitate to kick some ass or tell someone off if they’re rude. So he worries less knowing that she can very well take care of herself… but even so, a good boyfriend is gonna worry about his girl regardless.

"How does anyone manage to mix you two up?”
The chaotic hedgehog floated around Shadow, having appeared from seemingly from no where. A hand was raised to his chin as he continued inspecting the other, changing his position while in the air to imitate sitting in a chair. “You look nothing alike. Though you look like you could use some more red, which I can easily help you with.”

“He-Hey, Sonic! What up, dude? Long time no--!”
However, Michelangelo soon gets a better look at the hedgehog, and blinks in surprise. This one was black and red, with rings around his wrists. The orange clad scratches his head curiously with his finger.
"Uh...Okay. I’ll bite. Who’re you?"
@optimalweapon
“ What ? "
Blinking , the bunny merely asked in rethoric upon the straining gaze upon her orange sphere from the nearing hedgehog. He seemed so focused on the ball and his expression faltering between astonishment and confusion she had to wonder if he had never seen one before..!
