Optiman / Konstantin Khromov (Earth 54)

Age: 42 (in 1957)

Bio: When Russian cosmonaut Khonstantin Khromov seemingly died in a horrible explosion during a failed rocket launch, his remains were recovered and restored, augmented with technology by a group of dedicated scientists at the behest of the Soviet government. He was modeled after Superman, with technology capable of reproducing most of the man of steel's powers. Named Optiman (but known as Cyborg Superman to Americans), he would be the USSR's most notable hero, and the leader of their own state-sponsored superhero team.

“Hello, comrades. I must warn you, I am not a great speaker, but I will do my best today. My name is Konstantin Krhomov, but I would prefer for you to call me by my new name; Optiman. Once, I was a cosmonaut, and I dreamt of charting the universe that surrounds us. But, as I am sure you all have heard, there was a failed rocket launch several months ago. I died on that rocket, but our government brought me back from the darkness that exists beyond life. They made me a man of steel. A man of tomorrow.

“Thank you, my friends. I am here today to make a promise. I promise that I will loyally serve the will of Secretary Khrushchev, and I will serve the Party Congress, and I will serve the people of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, to the very best of my abilities. I hope that I will get to know many of you in the coming years, as your new champion. I am, like you, simply a worker of the world. Thank you.”

It may be a MYTH that male hormone levels decline "naturally" with age.
