"Oppies at Trearddur Bay" was inspired by my desire to share joyful memories of summer escapades by the sea through my art.
Here, optimist dinghies are sailing at Bae Trearddur Bay, Ynys Môn / Anglesey on the North Wales coast.
These small, single-handed sailing dinghy were designed for use by young people up to the age of 15. They are one of the two most popular sailing dinghies in the world, with over 150,000 boats officially registered with the class and many more built but never registered. They are sailed in over 120 countries!
The piece is worked in Daniel Smith pigment-rich watercolours, including one paint containing genuine Lapis Lazuli!
The A4 (29.7cm by 21cm) unframed original is available for £75 including UK postage or, if we live close enough for us to deliver, in a frame it's £95. Please just private message me to arrange your purchase.
