Today I'd like to give a shout out to three shops in Llangefni on Ynys Môn (Anglesey) who are taking part in the Mentrau Iaith scheme "Hapus i Siarad", which helps Welsh language learners like me practice our Welsh outside the classroom:
- Cain, a lovely card and gift shop;
- Cwpwrdd Cornel, the local Welsh language book shop; and
- Gwalia, a local delicatessen and cake shop.
Diolch yn fawr iawn/ Thank you very much for giving me such a warm welcome, helping me to speak some Welsh and filling in my card!
I've just emailed in the card to enter a raffle where one lucky learner will win a Welsh residential course!
Diolch eto/ Thank you again!

I know your squirrel conversation (about how Beckham needs to save them and you'd be so happy to petition BP about it) is a joke but...
I would totally read that book. Just saying. Not that you need to crowd-source your ideas.
It's actually one of the few things I do not joke about. I am wildly passionate about the preservation of red squirrels and consider myself extremely lucky to live in an area that is almost rabid about protecting them. Reds are native to the UK and greys are not. Greys are a pest, and we are actively trying to eradicate them because of the damage they're doing to our ecosystem. (45 were just removed from our neighbouring county this week!!!!)
We're very proud on my little island of our preservation work. Unless you're Anglesey Council and can sell protected woodland to developers for a holiday park - who want to MOVE the woodland to a deserted area. They could build on the empty land but won't because it doesn't have a sea view like Penrhos does 🤡 read it here
We are fighting a very real battle to protect 27 acres of protected woodland from being felled. I know this woodland, I drive past it regularly, and it's unfathomable that it should be cut down for a vanity project.
Just thought I'd put it out there for Becks 🫣😂
this is an older series about growing up on Ynys Mon in North Wales. These are images I am keen to revisit and re-create now that I have developed this style.
Ynys Mon Chapter 10 is now available on patreon!
Ffion deals with their new powers, and the teens learn what the hell is going on
