It’s really funny when people try to incorporate their current trendy political ideas into their fandom posting. (Activism is never a “trend”, but some people sure do love to treat it as one!)
No I don’t think drawing your blorbo burning an Israeli flag is going to free Palestine. I also don’t think addressing it towards someone in the fandom you don’t like (though I don’t know the full context, because they were vague posting) is going to cultivate that happy, healthy “good ol’ days” of fandom that y’all want so bad.
Also I think your blorbo is a little smarter than just. Making such a nuanced and complicated issue into some black and white “if you don’t want to call all Israelis facists and tell them to burn in hell, you’re a bad person!” Like I think the character who has been subjected to dehumanizing propaganda made about him wouldn’t deepthroat Hamas propaganda. Thats just me though.
Either way it’s really childish and disrespectful to try and fandomize the conflict. It shows just how much you actually care…. Which is to say, not at all.
I might make a few more posts on this subject, actually, because it really irks me how immature and ignorant it is. Maybe I’ll make it a series once I get better at navigating tumblr’s functions.
