I don't get how he went from getting sponsored by deran to drug smuggling.

Because the house wasn't bought before he started, probably wasnt while he was in police custody, so we can't even say that was a factor - he was the one pushing for deran to stop living in the bar too. Like should I just throw it out as shitty writing for TV drama's sake?

(I'm going to be honest I have a massive deran bias because he might be the only fictional character that's come close to being exactly my shade of anxiety/shitty decisions & ball of too much, I'm just tied down by stupid stuff like laws and different childhood trauma hangups)
