User @immortalthings made a good post about the Gloom Hands being the manifestation of Link's nightmares about losing his arm, which is an amazing theory and one I wish was canon, but I think for it to really work would require some adjustments and for the hands to look a little bit Different™
Anyway, something something crushing weight of guilt, something something Link's post-traumatic stress manifesting, please give my poor boy a break Nintendo he deserves it.
