hi hi i’ve recently realised that you like skam?? i was wondering what your favourite remakes are? i gave france a go and couldn’t get into it and i’m about to start druck from s1 (might have skipped to season 3 before i watched the others whoops)

Hello! I love SKAM, hmmm, okay, well it depends on the season mainly, but I think overall it’s got to be DRUCK (apart from some issues I had with s3, e.g. David being outed), I really enjoyed it, and it was consistent most of the time. This list isn’t in order or anything.

1. DRUCK (all of the seasons! Except for maybe s4, I have a few issues with it, mainly the pacing, but I also felt like they never really went into the deep stuff. That being said, it’s the second-best s4 remake). Season 2 has a special place in my heart as I watched it whilst I was in Europe, and therefore I was able to see the clips in real-time. It was a magical time in the druck fandom; I’m very nostalgic about it.

2. SKAM ITALIA (yes, it has its issues, and yes, whilst there’s the whole thing with Sana’s casting season, which I disagree with - they should have had a POC/Muslim actress etc.), I think they portrayed it really respectfully, and I think it’s probably the best s4 out of all the remakes). It’s fairly consistent, s3 (Eleonora’s season) is a bit of a drag. However, it is still worth watching since it has the top 3 William's of the remakes (only three valid Wilhelm’s: Senne, Alexander and Edoardo). Same with s2 of druck, s2 of skam Italia was also a magical time for me.

3. SKAM ESPAÑA

Great seasons, again, I felt similar to druck’s s4. Everything was a bit too sanitised in some of the seasons. However, I loved Cris’ season. I also enjoyed Nora’s season (s3).

4. SKAM NL

If I were to ever rewatch a s1 remake (apart from druck and maybe ITALIA), I would rewatch SKAM NL s1. It’s just so relatable, and Isa is such a great character. S2, don’t bother, it’s not that good, and honestly, it was a shame that it was cancelled. I would have loved to see Lucas in the next season.

5. SKAM AUSTIN

Okay, s1 was okay. I would watch it for Shay, I found Megan a bit annoying and sometimes a bit cringy, but in a way, I guess it’s a good portrayal of a teenage girl (who isn't a little cringy in their teens!?) I also rather enjoyed s2, Daniel is an okayish William, like he’s in the middle ground, but he’s also on f*cking thin ice. Also, there are beautiful characters like Josefina (retrospectively one of my favourite Cris’ and calls out Grace (Noora) which I love and Zoya (who I also wish got a season because she reminds me so much of Sana.

6. WTFOCK.

The only season I’d recommend is 2, mainly because it’s the least problematic and just the safest. They handled s2, I think alright, and I quite like Senne. S3 is controversial, to say the least (there’s a scene where they’re beaten up by some homophobes and some other stuff, and s4 is like. Just. No. I don’t know how they’re going to recover from that season, to be honest.

But yeah, SKAM FRANCE, I have never really gotten into either. S3 (Lucas x Elliot) was okay, but it pales compared to what the other remakes have done, and the other seasons are pretty much a trainwreck. That being said, Lola’s season was watchable, but I’d probably not rewatch it, and I felt like Maya was a bit of a manic pixie dreamgirl.

In short, if I had to rewatch the remakes, they would be TLDR: DRUCK (all of them except for s4), SKAM ITALIA (all of them), SKAM ESPAÑA (s2 and s3) and SKAM NL (s1).

This was probably much longer than you expected, but I really love talking about my favourite remakes and skam in general. If you like s3 of druck, you’ll love s1 of skam NL. It’s got very similar vibes which are nice.

Bernie has won Indiana and West Virginia by 52% of the vote. If he continues by that margin through the remaining primary states he will not have caught up with HIllary’s delegate lead (even with the superdelegates not counted).

Bernie needs to do better, and that’s where you come in.
