Orang Bujang. suddenly theres this fascination towards baju melayu. baju melayu is a folk costume, or traditional clothing for the malay race, particularly the Malaysian malays. it is usually bright in colors, but black is preferred for official functions. what i love about the baju melayu is the neckline. There are two mainstream styles, one is the cekak musang (fox chocker) which is a button up high neck. it is my favorite and featured in this drawing. the other is teluk belanga (pot inlet or pot curve ??). For me, everyone, including female will look handsome and macho wearing baju melayu. the squarish cutlines gives an illusion of a strong broad shoulder, broad back and long neck which emphasizes masculinity. usually donned with a weaved sarung skirt. #bajumelayu #folkcostume #boys #traditional #malay #drawing #sketch #alexietrillisyst #orangbujang
