Kælan Mikla - “Kalt”
Somehow this threesome is quite fascinating - my friends from Orange Ear found them on their trip to Iceland, filmed this little video and introduced me to their music. They are so young, their music is so dark and they look a bit like I did when I had my prom (or something like that) about 15 years ago....well, and I had turquoise hair and no piercings). They describe their music as “gloomy poetry punk” and I go with it although I have no clue what the singer is screaming in her high voice. Is that even a language I understand? Maybe not. Well, in August Kælan Mikla will be on tour though Europe. You’ll surely find me on their Berlin date because they remind me so much of myself.
