#OrangeUrWorld #OrangeTheWorld #HearMeToo #EndVAW The 25th of November is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women “Not until the half of our population represented by women and girls can live free from fear, violence and everyday insecurity, can we truly say we live in a fair and equal world." — UN Secretary-General António Guterres P.S ~ Based on the sad things that I am aware of, and that have been brought to my attention in 2018 I will add this as a note benign/imminent warning: Do not suffer in silence or be intimidated and bullied into a shackled life of slavery and servitude. Do not enable such men who have a history of systemically entrapping, abusing, exploiting, and destroying the lives of many women and girls. Remember, #Justice is not for sale. Orange the World #Campaign: The 25th of every month has been designated as #OrangeDay by the @UNWomen campaign Say No, UNiTE launched in 2009 to mobilize civil society, activists, governments and the @UN system in order amplify the impact of the UN Secretary-General’s campaign, UNiTE to End Violence against Women. Participants the world over are encouraged to wear a touch of orange in solidarity with the cause - the colour symbolizes a brighter future and a world free from violence against women and girls. The 2018 theme is Orange the World: #HearMeToo and like previous editions, the date marks the launch of 16 days of activism that will conclude on 10 December 2018, International Human Rights Day. Violence against women and girls (VAWG) is one of the most widespread, persistent and devastating human rights violations in our world today remains largely unreported due to the impunity, silence, stigma and shame surrounding it. In general terms, it manifests itself in physical, sexual and psychological forms, encompassing: intimate partner violence (battering, psychological abuse, marital rape, femicide); sexual violence and harassment (rape, forced sexual acts, unwanted sexual advances, child sexual abuse, forced marriage, street harassment, stalking, cyber- harassment); human trafficking (slavery, sexual exploitation); female genital mutilation; and child marriage. TODAY IS ORANGE DAY!!! (MUST READ) In July 2012 the Secretary-General’s UNiTE to End Violence against Women campaign proclaimed every 25th of the month as Orange Day. Initiated and led by the UNiTE campaign’s Global Youth Network, worldwide activities implemented on this day by UN country offices and civil society organizations strive to highlight issues relevant to preventing and ending violence against women and girls, not only once a year, on 25 November (International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women), but every month. Team Lady Horsepower Farm are advocates for youth and woman empowerment and we are grateful that we can sensitize you our followers and friends on this topic. Here is one of our drivers, Lisa @lisalis_missbehavin , wearing her ORANGE LHPF jersey to work today. You can follow their facebook page SayNO - UNiTE to End Violence Against Women. LET US ALL RAISE AWARENESS TOGETHER! LET US END VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN! xoxox #LadyHorspowerFarm #ItsHERstory #OrangeDay #orangeurworld
