What is something your OC wants but knows they can never have?

More than anything, Aster wants to be able to go home. But he can't, because his mom is dead and she was his home. Even more than that, he can't because he's a thief and Pixandria is his home and being Pixandrian means knowing that thievery is taboo of the highest order.

How does it feel to never get this specific desire?

He made this choice. He made it when he ran away from home after his mom died, and he made it when he became a thief to survive, and he made it again when he stayed a thief because he liked it, not because he needed it anymore. He's had almost ten years to make peace with his choices.

The homesickness still aches.
