I mentioned that Rhuarc the grumpy, one-eyed orc is a Dadmode Sleeper Agent, well, he just came online. He came across Lucia begging in chilly Whiterun and instantly offered her a room in Breezehome when he learned that her own aunt kicked her out when she took over the family farm.
Rhuarc's heart then broke all over again when she told him he could help himself to the stuff she'd found and collected into a chest in her room. Like, no, sweetie, it's your room and your stuff, and here, have a doll and a taffy treat and another dress.
I did look in the chest out of curiosity, and saw it was full of stuff like a bee, a few flowers, two books, a steel dagger (!), and some other small alchemy stuff. I headcanon now that she wants to be an alchemist when she grows up and will help Arcadia and learn from her while Rhuarc is off being a merc to support his little family (he's not the Dragonborn in this found-family AU). Rhuarc's housecarl, Lydia, basically stays at home in Whiterun the whole time, and she'll walk Lucia to Arcadia's Cauldron on the mornings that she's expected there, and will teach her some basic sword-work and self-defence in her spare time. She becomes like an aunt or an older sister.
Sofie will be the other kid Rhuarc will adopt, because she sleeps on the street in fucking Windhelm of all the frigid places in Skyrim, though he'd have a huge pack of formerly-homeless kids and provide them with a secure home and a protective orc as their father if he could (i.e. if the game let him). Alesan would have been the other choice, but he can sleep in the inn in Dawnstar, and Blaise has a roof over his head too working at the stables in Solitude, even if he's miserable. These two girls had nothing and no one, but now they've got Orc Dad.
