Orchard Beach in The Bronx, Sunday May 17th, 2026. Temperatures were unusually warm for May in New York City, reaching 85°F (29°C), so many New Yorkers visited local beaches to enjoy the nice weather.

“Q: Bob Marley’s favorite musician? A: Stevie Wonder” (”Official Bob Marley” Tweet)  Sadly, the music world lost Bob Marley long before the era of social media.  He passed away on May 11, 1981.  Thankfully, Stevie Wonder is still with us.  I wish a Happy Birthday to this musical genius, who was born on May 13, 1950.  Bob Marley is mentioned in Stevie’s “Master Blaster (Jammin’)” song: “From the park I hear rhythms/Marley’s hot on the box...”  During the summer, Orchard Beach is known for another type of music, salsa.  (Photo taken on May 2, 2018)
