In Turkish folklore, the Orek is a type of undead creature similar to a zombie. They are generally believed to be mindless, shambling corpses who hunger for human flesh.

The most common method for an Orek to be created is for a corpse to be raised by a witch, but some believe that any woman dressed in white has the power to turn a dead body into an Orek.
