A look at God’s amazing creation. Here are two videos of “fairy rings” or at least parts of them. Fairy rings are the visible, above ground manifestation of the presence of extensive mycelial networks in soil that contains a lot of rotting and decomposing organic material, usually where trees have been removed. The mushrooms or toad stools are the fruiting bodies in which are thousands of spores. When the spores drop out from under the bell of the schroom the ones that land outside the ring still have nutrient in the soil and they sprout and continue the outward growth of the mycelium; those landing inside the circle do not have the right nutrients since the earlier hyphae consumed it.
