weehoo am i entirely happy with this song? no. would i ever be? also probably not. imo chess theory and war theory have some overlaps so i don’t think it would be an overstatement to think that roy’s chess tactics would bleed into how he frames the world around him. do i know who’s pov i’m writing from in this piece? absolutely not. i love it when i unintentionally hit both of them.

for @capthawkeye​: the other half of myself, the person who has proven to me time and time again that soulmates are indeed a real thing and i’m so eternally grateful to have come across u in my life.

months ago u teased me that i ought to create a song for may i feel, and now i’ve done that. sorry it took me so long. i hope the wait has been worth it. (i left this as a live take tho bc i’m quite fond of them and i really don’t like how polished garageband sounds).

although written with the particular characterisations of may i feel, said he in mind, this is also very much an angsty royai song that is entirely true to canon when it comes to them admitting their feelings to each other - which is to say they don’t ever and we all sit and cry.

ty to everyone who has shown their support for this fic. i know i speak for mar when i say that we appreciate all of u so much.

happy birthday @the-flame-and-hawks-eye​!!! i wanted to do a little something for you today just to say ty for being such a wonderful friend and such a bright and kind part of this community here. i truly enjoy our essay-length 3-weeks-apart messages and the enthusiasm u have for royai and writing fic <3

southern gothic is quite possibly my favourite genre of music (behind romantic classical) and writing lyrics/assembling the right chordal structure to suit the aesthetic of the genre was a fun challenge! this song definitely leans towards hellbound for inspiration, but honestly it’s also very easy to also understand it as just a Dark Royai™ song haha

played on my guitar with only 3 strings bc i am a cheap musician

sunday, august 6th (security) / original composition

no single word in english renders all the shades of toska. at its deepest and most painful, it is a sensation of great spiritual anguish, often without any specific cause.

i thought long and hard about this piece. originally i wanted to do something a little lighter, a little sunnier - but both alphonse and mei are characters that deserve more than that. thus, toska was born. 

this is a song inspired by the selfless sacrifice that best defines alphonse and mei. it would only make sense that it would also factor into their own relationship as well.

monday, july 10th - journey /  original composition

all my thanks go to @princesstuttu​  who encouraged me to participate in lingfan week! i hope that this is alright, i’ve never written much about them so i hope this piece doesn’t come across as strange or out of character for these two!!!

originally i was going to compose the song entirely in japanese but i found that there were phrases that were better explained in english so it’s a mix! (if you would like a translation of the japanese please let me know, though it’s pretty basic haha)
