Whelp, just finished teaching my first week of Summer Camp and Origami was this week’s theme! It is always a great feeling to watch my young folders evolve from day one of feeling a little apprehensive to day five of being like, “I did it”! I begin my day with pre-folded examples of the day’s models including handouts of diagrams for most of them. I teach the students how to read and decipher the diagrams because an independent artist is a happy artist no matter the age/skill! By the end of the week (and many times much earlier) the students are teaching/helping each other and it fills my heart with buckets of joy to be a part of their progress! Yesterday I filled in for one of my Origami classes and had so much talking and folding with the kids! They are like a breath of fresh air!
