A Little Bit of Animism in Urban Witchery: A Rant
There's a lot of stuff going on about how Cities aren't connected to nature. Which is bullshit.
Everything we build is still a part of nature. Would you look at a beaver dam and condemn it because a beaver built it? No! That would be absurd. - Avery Hart
Modern day cities are just as natural as the forests that once grew beneath them. Yes, they don't quite feel like your typical mountain trail, but neither does the beach.
It's simply a matter of transforming energy. Concrete doesn't feel like sand and rocks and water because it's not "sand and rocks and water", it's Concrete.
It's like the whole "coffee is just bean water" debate.
Cities feel different because the very buildings themselves have different energies than what they were built from. Add on the power grids and the sewage systems and the people, well no wonder it's different from the rest of nature.
But that doesn't mean it's not natural.

Honestly my favorite type of days are the ones when you feel like you left everything behind you, the days when you go out with friends and do rebellious teenager stuff in a worn out leather jacket, too much eyeliner, and messy hair, the days where you feel like you have no limits and the world is yours, the days when you feel like you can do anything.

Poor, unable, and not in the sticks Don’t even own your own bag of tricks. Well, at least you have your own humility. Just show some civility, And then, for you, I might have some sympathy. But, even then, I might still mock you simply
‘cause you’re all bottom feeders – Untouchable, every season. My guards, untouchable safety, Understand not your reasons.
