original "Whirlwind" ending? Yeah… it was wild!
okay since some of you asked… here it is.
The raw, unfiltered, never-developed original ending idea for Whirlwind.
Disclaimer: this was never written or developed beyond this rough concept. Let’s just say my friend hit the emergency brakes on that mess real quick. So this is purely for the drama.
So in the first version of the story, after Jackson tells Jinyoung he loves him… Jinyoung snaps.
He starts spiraling, haunted by memories of his father violating his mother while claiming he “loved her.” It messes him up deeply. He stops sleeping, drinks too much, barely eats. He begins to lose weight.
Jackson notices, but he’s helpless, every time he tries to talk to Jinyoung, he either gets “I’m fine,” or Jinyoung distracts him with sex.
Then comes the infamous dinner party (yes, the one that is in the final version). While drinking, Nell pokes at Jinyoung: “You look destroyed.” He laughs and says, “Maybe I am. Maybe I'm losing my mind.”
That’s all Nell needs, she senses the crack and slithers right in.
She pushes and manipulates (as she does), and eventually convinces Jinyoung to do another shoot for her OnlyFans. But Jinyoung says he’ll only do it if Jackson joins, because in his warped mind, if Jackson’s there, it’s not cheating.
Of course, Jackson would never agree to that.
So Jinyoung… drugs him.
Nell brings people over. They have their way with Jackson while Jinyoung just sits there and watches while drinking.
The next day, Jackson doesn’t remember anything; he was drunk, drugged, and completely unaware.
Until Nell finds him at the clinic and shows him the video.
That’s when everything collapses.
Jackson goes feral.
He destroys their apartment. Smashes the snow globe. Disappears.
The news is out there because everyone is looking for Jackson.
Jay B finds Jinyoung and literally smacks some sense into him.
Eventually, Jackson shows up at Bambam’s place after a few days.
The final scene would’ve been Jackson sitting alone in the park, reading Jinyoung’s letter, crying, until Bambam finds him.
Fade to black.
This is NOT the ending these characters deserve.
It doesn’t match the spirit of the story or their arcs.
So yeah… we pivoted.
The ending you got, the healing, the forgiveness, the bittersweet softness, that’s what they deserved.
There! That was the original ending idea.
Sorry 😁!!! And honestly? I’m really glad I changed my mind.
