The update on the comic with Azul, Floyd, and Jade got me thinking, if Jade was concerned about if Trey really loved him and Trey said those words even as a joke, he’d probably feel really upset and worried especially since he’s now pregnant with a humans child. Floyd probably is only one who can tell if Jade is joking or not, so he knows Jade is pregnant even if Azul thinks it’s all a joke. This puts Jade in a serious predicament, Jade loves Trey, but is he willing to give up his entire being to become human for Trey. Especially since he probably couldn’t even consider the possibility of Trey settling for him because as both his twin and best friend said, Trey is only human.

i do think that jade questions trey-san’s affections for him. Just how i don’t think that jade even likes saying the words ‘love’ when referring to trey for he would hate to over assume his role in trey’s life (he totally blocked out of his mind when trey-san said “ily” in my comic btw www).

which is just a thing the both of them have to work through www~

jade would have NEVER thought that he’d fall in love with grow an affection towards a human. or anyone for that matter!!

he thought that he’d probably get arranged into a marriage with a beautiful merwoman (probably eel) by his parents so he can have an offspring for when he takes over the family business (this is headcanon and au territory).

so the fact that he fell in love with someone (who ISNT AZUL) is a BIG surprise. much less a human…

even if his heart says that he’s ready to “give everything up” for trey. IF!

…his mind is very VERY logical (and his mind forces his heart to close off) so he wouldn’t even ADMIT to anyone how he really feels about it…

Trey-san is only human but Jade is incredibly independent. Almost too independent.

To the point his independence takes form as noncommittal for he can “do it himself”.

a noncommittal human and a noncommittal mermaid… are still both noncommittal…

Jade, Floyd and Azul are hypocrites. They do everything that all these untrustworthy and ‘insecure’ humans do.. they just have the excuse of; “this is how it has to be in the coral sea to survive”.

trey-san is only human but jade is a moray eel. And moray eels are cowards at heart…
