“I don’t expect you to care.” (darcy to billy)

        The anger bubbles up quietly at first until he swears he can’t see straight. It wasn’t like Billy to get upset. He grits his teeth and bears most things, but with Darcy things are different. She’s got a hold of him -- parts of him he didn’t even realize were present. “Why wouldn’t I care? What about me tells you I don’t care?” It hits him then that it’s not anger; it’s fear and uncertainty. Billy’s never felt this way, not in his entire life. He’s traveled from place to place -- given a new lease on life because of Cedric, his family. He’ll always have Cedric and Sebastian, but Darcy seems more intangible. She could easily be lost if he doesn’t nurture their relationship. “I care, Darce.”

“I’ll always be here for you.” (elaine x mia )

         The smile on her face seems like a permanent feature. It was hard to imagine Freyja ever settling down and maybe she never would have, not unless the council ordered it. But Elaine is perfect, patient, and kind. The type of woman who was good for her sire -- good for Mia. Without a second though, Mia hugs her tight. She releases her once she realizes how tight her grip is. “Sorry. I forget.” Leaning up, she plants a kiss to her new mom’s cheek. “And I’ll always be here for you too.” A family was once a foreign concept to her. It meant nothing -- before Elaine and Freyja.

“I know I never say it, but…thanks.” (darcy x billy)

         A tiny shrug follows her thanks and he’s eternally grateful he can’t blush. It would throw off his calmness at her words. It’s already hard enough to maintain his cool around her as is. “You don’t need to say it, Darce. I get it. But you’re welcome. I’ll always be here and not just because the council said I have to be.” Unable to help himself, he clears his throat and studies the flooring he’s standing on.

“Will you stay a little longer?” (darcy x billy)

         The question hits him square in the chest and Billy swears his heart squeezes out a few more beats from beyond the grave. The muscle in his chest hasn’t moved in over a century, but with Darcy, he swears it ticks now and then. She’s tough and hard to crack, but Billy wants to wiggle himself into her life -- to become a permanent fixture in her life. He takes a step towards her, not even aware how badly his hands are shaking as he lifts them to brush against her cheeks. “I’ll stay for as long as you want, love.” His words come out softly and he hopes to hell she doesn’t make him repeat it. To ensure she doesn’t, he closes the distance between them and kisses her gently. A peck, but enough to let her know he’s there.

Caroline had hidden herself away in her hotel room for too long.  The outside world was a bit too much for her but she knew it was time to go out and try to accept her new life.  She made her way to the cafe near the hotel, trying to get some sense of normalcy, when she spotted a familiar face.  Sure she shouldn’t have been too surprised to see her.  After all she saw her cousin during the attack on the hotel but she knew that Darcy didn’t see her.  So Caroline quickly pumped herself up before sitting down across from her.  “Hey cuz.  Long time no see.”
