witchy-griff:
Griff leaned against a tree in the hot park, watching the people mill around on the odd holiday. He’d never really gotten the point of the fourth of July, outside of maybe the fireworks. Barbecues and being outside to celebrate American independence was odd, but sure. Wasn’t the weirdest thing his country did. He was currently deciding which bad habit to indulge; to pick everyone’s pockets and enjoy the sudden wealth and potential arrest, or drink until he couldn’t remember Caleb was gone. Strings had been pulled, and his now ex was headed back to his real life without Griff, which would work out better in the long run for Caleb, but it made Griffin miserable. He finally settled on drinking, though he did admittedly pick a few pockets on his way over to that stand. Once arriving there however, he nearly walked right into someone, just managing to catch himself. “Sorry about that.”
Cedric truly had little to no opinion on the holiday. He generally found America annoying on their independence, especially when the country seemed to be going down in flames around them. But overall it wasn’t his country. Settled with a drink in hand he stayed mostly to the side watching judging everyone. Seeing the spectacle of someone picking pockets among the crowd. When Cedric was bumped into by the same person he quickly patted where he kept his wallet. “Listen I’m not going to turn you in but don’t get any funny ideas.” He warned when he felt it was still there. “Though I do have to say that’s pretty impressive. How long have you had that skill?”
