Orphegel Orchestrion ———————————————— 2+ Effect Monsters, including an “Orphegel” monster This linked card cannot be destroyed by battle or card effects. You can target 3 of your banished Machine monsters; return them to the Deck, also, if your opponent controls any face-up monsters that are linked, the ATK/DEF of those monsters becomes 0 and their effects are negated. You can only use this effect of “Orphegel Orchestrion” once per turn. ———————————————— Can Be Found In: Soul Fusion (SOFU-JP045)
Orphegel is a musical archetype making part of the various themes related to the World Legacy monsters, and thus sharing some of their options. The build won't mind disposing Orphegels to the Graveyard, as most of their interactions are in there by being banished and providing us additional summons for our setups. Not only that, but the Link Monsters leading the archetype will use their effects by retrieving those banished monsters, allowing us to cycle between using monsters as materials and for costs but also feeding their lead monsters' abilities. Including the options related with World Legacy, Orphegel debuted recently yet have all the options to quickly dominate the board.
"Orphegel Orchestrion" is the boss monster of the archetype, taking full advantage of not only its archetype but the gimmicks featured in Link Monsters. While linked with another monster, "Orchestrion" will become invulnerable against battles and destructive effects. Additionaly, after retrieving three banished monsters back to our Deck, "Orchestrion" will erase all the stats and effects of any enemy monsters pointed by its arrows. Overall a powerful creature capable of not only resist many threats, but also break through opponent's best monsters to deal clean damage as retrieves some of our key monsters in the process.
With a Link-4 to work with "Orchestrion" might seem a difficult task to achieve, but due the Graveyard interactions of its archetype is far easier to Link Summon than it looks. As cards like "Orphegel Einsatz" and "Orphegel Prime" disposes of its members for various benefits, we will follow with its Graveyard abilities to summon monsters from several areas of the game. While Orphegels' effects will restrict us arround DARK Machines said demerit will only apply after their activation, so we can still mix along other monsters such as Lightsworn to mill our Decks and obtain their abilities and others as soon as possible. Let's not forget that Orphegel is related to the World Legacy, not only sharing some of their options but also allowing them to obtain valuable materials like "World Legacy - "World Crown"" and "World Legacy - "World Scepter"" among others. Let's not forget the chance to use other Link Monsters to shorcut the arrival of "Orchestrion" with their ratings, specially archetype members like "Orphegel Galatea" and "Orphegel Longirus" providing their respective effects as well retrieving other banished monsters in the process. Don't miss any chances in late game to revive "Orchestrion", as although might nullify half of its arrows by being summoned in the Main Monster Zone it can as still use the upper arrows towards the Extra Monster Zone(s).
With destruction immunity and an effect that can break through resiliant fields, "Orchestrion" won't take too long to cause big trouble towards the opponent. Thanks to the mentioned options to summon materials, the same will go to provide "Orchestrion" monsters to work along and obtain its defensive effects as soon as possible. Otherwise, pointing opponent's monsters will suffice for "Orchestrion" to become tough to take down by common means. The weakening effect of "Orchestrion" might cause lethal damage under the right timing, as by erasing stats and effects of any linked enemy monsters pretty much will assure our win specially with cards like "Limiter Removal" assisting it (As well ignoring its destructive demerit in most cases). Retrieving banished monsters is not just some sort of cost to weaken monsters but also a way to recover them, and although returning to our Deck it shouldn't take long to be back in action with the use of searching and/or milling effects. Recovering banished monsters isn't limited to Orphegels, so to assure the ability of "Orchestrion" under any circumstances we can banish other monsters as we use them for cards like "Dark Armed Dragon" or "Levionia the Primordial Chaos Dragon" among others.
Despite the recent debut of its archetype, "Orphegel Orchestrion" has all the resources to become a dangerous boss monster right from early game. No matter if accompanied with other monsters or pointing the opponent's, "Orchestrion" shouldn't take long to gain immunity against most destructive sources. And with not only 3000 ATK but also the assistance of staple Machine cards like "Limiter Removal", "Orchestrion" will take great advantage of its weakening effect to itself and/or other monsters deal clean damage. But while overall seems that "Orchestrion" can become one of the most devastating monsters to battle with, its heavy reliance on linking monsters with its arrows makes it very field dependant in addition of requiring a good number of banished monsters for its peak performance. Yet, despite not becoming the best choice in most scenarios, "Orphegel Orchestrion" is a dangerous monster if the opponent isn't careful where they place their monsters.
Personal Rating: A
+ Gains protection against destructive sources while pointing a monster + Retrieves banished monsters as removes the stats and effect of opponent's linked monsters + Easy to summon + Strong finisher potential
- Very dependant of banished monsters and monsters' location on the field - Remains immune to non-destructive effects

A nice little note from the translators? of YGOrganization:
Orpheus, the Greek figure who went to the underworld to reclaim his wife. In this case, Ningirsu trying to bring back his sister Ib from the dead after she seemingly killed herself to stop Lee from using her body with the Knightmares.
Orgel/Orgol, a Music Box (also the term for Organ)
Belphegor, the Demon Lord of Sloth who is connected with bringing laziness and the corruption of men through technology. And in the World Legacy setting, things that refer to music are basically always Bad Things (TM).
Orphegel Galatea, a cute new monster from Yugioh !
A small mechanical destroyer
The Orphegel World Legacy Monster
World Legacy – “World Scepter” Level 8 DARK Machine Effect Monster ATK 500 DEF 2500 You can use each effect among the (2)nd and (3)rd effects with this card’s name only once per turn. (1) If this card was Normal Summoned/Set, it cannot destroyed by battle with monsters that were Special Summoned from the Extra Deck. (2) If this card is sent to the GY: You can Special Summon 1 “World Legacy” monster from your hand. (3) You can banish this card from your GY, then target 1 of your banished “Orphegel” monsters; for the rest of this turn, you cannot Special Summon monsters, except DARK monsters, also Special Summon that monster.
You’re never going to normal summon this card. Two tributes is far too much effort for this deck and the effect is bad anyways so I don’t know why you would even want to.
There are quite a few ways to send this card to the grave, but having to summon the “World Legacy” monster from the hand means that you have to be playing quite a lot of them and no one’s going to do that because these cards are archetype specific.
Summoning back a banished “Orphegel” monster is nice though, but having to play this card and get it into the grave is a bit much for this deck.
It fits with the theme of the other “World Legacy” cards: 1. have effects that vaguely synergize with the archetype they fit in and 2. be bad.
The Orphegel Spells
Orphegel Prime Normal Spell You can only activate 1 card with this card’s name once per turn. (1) Send to the GY 1 “Orphegel” or “World Legacy” monster that is in your hand or face-up on your field; draw 2 cards.
This card is perfect.
Getting the “Orphegel” monsters into the grave to activate their effects is already excellent, but then drawing 2 cards from that is a massive advantage gain.
This card is the perfect consistency card not only digging you deeper into your deck, but setting up your monsters’ effects so that you can really combo off.
Orphegel Babel Field Spell Card (1) The effects of Link Monsters you control whose original names include “Orphegel”, and of monsters in your GY whose original names include “Orphegel”, can also be activated during your opponent’s turn. (2) If this card is in your GY, except the turn this card was sent there: You can send 1 card from your hand to the GY; add this card to the hand.
Turning all your “Orphegel” monsters into quick effects is very nice as ‘Orphegel Longirus’ can send a linked monster to the grave and ‘Orphegel Orchestration’ can turn all linked monsters into 0/0 vanillas.
This card also makes all the grave effects of the “Orphegel” monsters quick effects so Diver can summon from the deck, and Scherzone can summon from the grave during the opponent’s turn.
The effect to add back to hand on destruction is nice if you have something good to discard, but the odds are good that you will especially if you’re playing Prime.
Orphegel Einsatz Continuous Spell Card You can use the (1)st effect with this card’s name only once per turn. (1) If your opponent Normal or Special Summons a monster(s): You can choose, from your hand or Deck, 1 “Orphegel” or “World Legacy” monster, and if you do, send it to the GY or banish it.
This card relying on your opponent isn’t that bad because your opponent summoning any monster in something nearly 100% guaranteed.
Getting monsters banished or in the grave only matters if Babel is on the field which with 3 ‘Terraforming’ and ‘Orphegel Galantea’ setting it from the deck will be extremely easy to accomplish, but without Babel this card sets up the grave for your next turn that’s it.
If you have this and Babel on the field however then this card can send Scherzone to summon back a link monster and disrupt the opponent’s turn.
This is still really good, just not good on it’s own.
Orphegel Prime Normal Spell You can only activate 1 card with this card’s name once per turn. (1) Send to the GY 1 “Orphegel” or “World Legacy” monster that is in your hand or face-up on your field; draw 2 cards.
SOFU-JP057 Orphegel Babel Field Spell Card (1) The effects of Link Monsters you control whose original names include “Orphegel”, and of monsters in your GY whose original names include “Orphegel”, can also be activated during your opponent’s turn. (2) If this card is in your GY, except the turn this card was sent there: You can send 1 card from your hand to the GY; add this card to the hand.
New Archetype: Orphegel
Orphegel Canon Cannon Level 1 DARK Machine Tuner Effect Monster ATK 500 DEF 1900 You can only use the effect of this card’s name once per turn. (1) You can banish this card from the GY; Special Summon 1 “Orphegel” monster from your hand, except “Orphegel Canon Cannon”, but you cannot Special Summon monsters, except DARK monsters, for the rest of this turn.
All the “Orphegel” monsters have effects that banish themselves from the grave to summon another “Orphegel” from somewhere.
And they all have the restriction of only summoning DARK monsters for the rest of the turn, which isn’t really a restriction because there’s tons of good DARK monsters.
Cannon summons from the hand
Orphegel Scherzo Skeleton Level 3 DARK Machine Effect Monster ATK 1200 DEF 1500 You can only activate the effect of this card’s name once per turn. (1) You can banish this card from your GY, then target 1 “Orphegel” monster in your GY, except “Orphegel Scherzo Skeleton”; Special Summon that monster, but you cannot Special Summon monsters, except DARK monsters for the rest of this turn.
Skeleton summons from the graveyard.
Orphegel Divertimento Devil Level 4 DARK Machine Effect Monster ATK 1700 DEF 1400 You can only activate the effect of this card’s name once per turn. (1) You can banish this card from your GY; Special Summon 1 “Orphegel” monster from your Deck, except “Orphegel Divertimento Devil”, also you cannot Special Summon monsters for the rest of this turn, except DARK monsters.
And Devil summons from the deck.
Orphegel Galatea Link 2 DARK Machine Link Effect Monster ATK 1800 Links: Top Right, Bottom Left Materials: 2 monsters, including at least 1 “Orphegel” monster You can only use the 2nd effect of this card’s name once per turn. (1) This linked card cannot be destroyed by battle. (2) You can target 1 of your banished Machine monsters; return that monster to the Deck, then Set 1 “Orphegel” Spell/Trap Card directly from your Deck to your side of the field.
All the link monsters only require 1 “Orphgel” monster so the rest of the requirement can be fulfilled by anything.
The link monsters also protect themselves and shuffle back banished machines to do things.
Galetea gets battle protection and can set spells/traps from the deck for 1 monster.
Orphegel Longirsu Link 3 DARK Machine Link Effect Monster ATK 2500 Links: Top Left, Top, Bottom Right Materials: 2+ monsters, including at least 1 “Orphegel” monster You can only use the 2nd effect of this card’s name once per turn. (1) This linked card cannot be destroyed by card effects. (2) You can target 2 of your banished Machine monsters; return those monsters to the Deck, then you can send 1 monster your opponent controls that this card points to to the GY, but this card cannot attack this turn.
Longirsu gets card effect protection as long as it’s linked and can return 2 machines to get rid of an opponent’s monster.
Orphegel Orchestrion Link 4 DARK Machine Link Effect Monster ATK 3000 Links: Top, Top Right, Bottom Left, Bottom Materials: 2+ Effect Monsters including an “Orphegel” monster You can only use the (2) effect of this card’s name once per turn. (1) While this card is linked, it cannot be destroyed by battle or card effects. (2) You can target 3 of your banished Machine monsters; Return them to the Deck, also, if your opponent controls any face-up monsters that are linked, the ATK and DEF of those monsters becomes 0 and their effects are negated.
Orchestrion gets both battle and card effect protection when linked and can return 3 monsters to make all your opponent’s monsters 0/0 normal monsters.
All the link monsters are fantastic just for how easy they are to summon and for how useful and easy to activate their effects are.
Orphegel Attack Normal Trap Card (1) When a monster declares an attack: You can Tribute 1 “Orphegel” or “World Legacy” monster you control, then target 1 monster your opponent controls; banish that monster.
An archetypal ‘Dimensional Prison’ is okay, but at least it’s setable from the deck.
Requiring a tribute is a bit much though.
Orphegel Core Continuous Trap Card (1) Once per turn: You can banish 1 monster you control or in your GY, then target 1 “Orphegel” or “World Legacy” card you control, except “Orphegel Core”; that card cannot be targeted by effects for the rest of this turn. (2) If a “Orphegel” or “World Legacy” card you control, except this card, would be destroyed by battle or effect, you can send this card you control to the GY instead.
This card covers the targeting protection that none of the link monsters have for the cost of banishing a card in the grave which isn’t a problem at all.
The second effect to take a destruction is also nice, but none of the “Orphegel” link monsters are destroyable so that effect is more for the “World Legacy” archetype who only exist to help the archetypes in this lore series and do not work as a deck in it of themselves.
This archetype looks very good. Simple yet really good effects, reasonable restrictions make them really splashable. I’m interested in how they’ll turn out.
