Orter madl with a lover who is blind but has lots of magic how would he feel about that 🙇
this man's got poor eyesight himself, it's basically pot calling kettle black-

ᵉʸᵉ ᵗᵒ ᵉʸᵉ !!
being orter's blind s/o includes...
it was hard for him to adjust to you when you first met him, actually.
you were fairly accommodating for someone with a legal disability which he was grateful for, but he had doubts that you were any good and defending yourself.
he underestimated you a whole lot and thought that you were a useless addition to the divine visionary group, even when ryoh confirmed that you were not someone to mess with.
so on the fated day that you and orter finally work together, he’s sticking as close as he can to you just in case you trip over something and get hurt.
but funnily enough, you don’t trip over anything. you walk on your own just fine, and it’s almost like you could see or sense your surroundings at least.
and orter, being the overly strict guy he is, questions you about how you’re able to navigate your surroundings so well if you’re blind. he starts asking if you are actually blind until you get rid of your blindfold and show the scars dragged across your eyelids.
it is then obvious to everyone and their deceased grandmother that you cannot see.
then you explain that you can sense your surroundings via magic, though it took you a long time to constantly use magic to do so.
when you and orter finally get to your destination, it is revealed that you are as strong as ryoh had said.
what orter did not expect was a literal black hole swallowing your enemies. your magic was oddly similar to wahlberg’s but he didn’t question it at the time until after the fight, where he made a passing comment about how your magic was similar to the old man’s.
then you laugh at him, call him silly, and say “he’s my granddad!”
in the most nonchalant voice ever
and orter had to pause for a moment because he DOES NOT recall the old man ever getting married, let alone having a wife or any kids, but somehow he kept them all hidden for safety issues.
your identification spell deactivated simply because you were anointed a divine visionary, and everyone knew your real identity by then.
orter, for many reasons, is shell-shocked. he never considered that wahlberg had so much energy to cast a illusion spell on his family members, but he is also shocked that you’ve lived under a different name the whole time until the moment you became… well, you.
after your mission together, orter starts respecting you a lot more, both because of the things you did to get where you were now, and your lineage.
that respect in a matter of months turn into infatuation for a few reasons:
he admires you for how strong you are, mentally and magically.
he feels this internal urge to protect you even though you could probably protect yourself better
he learned that he had a lot to learn from you, especially when it came to interacting with others.
and most of all, he didn't need to see your eyes to know you were a beautiful person.
even with your scars, he thinks you're the most admirable and respectable person on the planet.
this is shown from the moment you start dating him because this man would never walk in front of you unless it's in a dangerous situation.
he prefers to walk side-by-side with you because he considers you his equal out of everyone else.
offers you his arm or hand when you need to go somewhere, just so you're not inconvenienced from your disability.
most of all, he would NEVER allow ANYONE to talk down on you. yes, you're blind, but you're just as deserving of being called a divine visionary as he was. you're disability had nothing to do with your strength, and orter knew that like that back of his hand.
of course, he would never talk you down either; none of your family or friends do it, so it obviously doesn't give him permission to do it.
not only that, but he worries that he will loose wahlberg's approval of him the minute he says something inconsiderate.
one time the two of you were bickering over something dumb and he said "look here you-" and you just stood there like "???"
had to take a moment, breathe, and stutter out an apology because it was just out of pocket. well, not really. he didn't mean to say something like that. he just forgot you were... you know.
blind
controlling his tongue and having patience puts him through the wringer, but he thinks it's worth it because he's learning how he can treat you right
he can't live the rest of his life being an inconsiderate prick anyway, might as well get started on the changes.
was so anxious when you met his family bc they're so judgmental af but then mf WAHLBERG joins the meeting and is like "sup bros and ladies, what's up?"
he really went "dw grandchild, grandpa got this in the bag"
bc let's be honest, wahlberg probably won't let some noblemen talk down his grandchild like that.
i mean he already feels bad for not being able to protect you once, he's not letting you go into wacky ass shit alone again. well, granted, you have orter, but it's going to be hard for orter to clap back to his own dad like that, so he pulled up for emergencies.
and mr. madl sitting here KNOWING if he breathes a word of meanness to you he's going to get it.
not only from wahlberg and you, but from his own son
you handled everything so well, orter couldn't help but think you were just born to be his spouse or something.
you even got to sassing his mom because she was persistent on you taking your blindfold off at the dinner table, which you didn't feel comfortable doing and told her that "my ugliness is not a sight for the weak hearted, ma'am. i'm afraid i do not want to be the reason behind your cardiac arrest."
wahlberg was fighting back tears.
(wirth loves your sass btw)
