Going by the stills and episode description the main focus in this episode is going to be Buck and Bobby. I can't see Bobby learning anything about his mom that will be a game changer for Bobby or the show. It seems like from the preview he already knew that his mom was working as some kind of televangelist. Athena didn't know but I don't see that causing any long term issues with her and Bobby.
People have speculated that Tommy is going to make an appearance. I know bummy stans want to see them back together but 1. That isn't going to happen. (Tim has already said Tommy is in Buck's romantic past) 2. Even if it did it's not something I could see Kat labeling as a game changer especially in the positive way she did. She's always been really supportive of Buddie.
I've also seen people speculate that Buck might have some hookups or finally label himself as bi in 8x11. While I do think both of those are possible I don't think either one is something to be labeled as game changing. I think it's important for Buck to actually say he's bisexual but when he does that's not something that's going to drastically change the trajectory of him as a character or the show the way it did when he first came out in season 7.
I think the most logical reason for this reaction is because Buck is going to realize he's in love with Eddie and it's actually going to be said aloud. This will be something that will have a major affect on Buck and Eddie and their storylines going forward and really the show in general to an extent too. We are finally going to be entering the point in which Buddie is acknowledged as more than fanon. This is the point that the show can not go back from.
Also remember what Oliver has said about this episode:
Oliver talking about how he has an important convo with Maddie in 8x11
A conversation he never thought he’d have with Maddie in an ep called “Holy Mother of God”?!?! Possibly confessing his newfound feelings to
This is one doesn't mention 8x11 but given all the focus that's been put on this ep it's likely the one he was referencing
"9-1-1" returns with a new batch of episodes March 6.
