wait if buck had chris' glasses during the tsunami, do you think chris was worried he wouldn't be able to find buck because everything was too blurry?
3x03: The Searchers ― 4x14: Survivors
After that... it got me thinking. You know, what would happen to Christopher if I hadn't? So I went to my attorney and changed my will. So, someday, If, I, uh... didn't make it... Christopher would be taken care of. By you.

i've seen people say that Buck didn't have a reaction to Maddie's kidnapping in season 8, but i think they forgot that nobody knew it was a kidnapping when we saw Buck. Like most of them thought that Maddie left on her own before Jee said something about hearing another person. So when we saw Buck it was before they knew about kidnapping so we should compare his reaction to s5, not s2. And in s5 he was like 'she will return once she is better' and 'it's just how she is dealing with things'. Not saying it was true, but for Buck, who is her younger brother (and almost son), and who was left behind by Maddie a couple of times before and she always came back, it's probably true.
Also they probably wanted to highlight Maddie and Chim's relationship, and that's why they give a main role to Chimney. Like in s2 Maddie was mostly Buck's sister and that's why it was him who was chasing Doug. But now the main relationship in her life is Chim and Jee and that's why they showed mostly Chim.
And it's okay, Buck was shown kinda freaking out (like not about the kidnapping, but about Maddie's mental health like 'she is probably worse than last time because then she called me, and left Chimney a message, and brought Jee to safety not left her alone'). But he is also shown freaking out about Eddie's leaving more than Maddie's leaving.
I'm sure if he knew that Maddie was kidnapped he would be worried about her safety more, but in his eyes at the moment in the car with Eddie it's "my sister has left me again, but based on the previous instances, she will come back sooner or later" and "Eddie is leaving me and he bought a house in Texas and Chris is in Texas and Eddie said that i don't matter, so Eddie is probably not gonna come back (probably because Abby didn't come back and we saw how they were paralleling Abby and Eddie, and how Buck even compared them)".
So i understand why he was freaking out about Eddie more. Plus it was probably also done to show that Maddie have her own new people (Chim and Jee) and Buck has his own (Eddie and Chris) in comparison to s2.
Anyway, what i meant to say is that we can't use "Buck's non-reaction to Maddie's kidnapping" as a reason to doom and say that Buck is not gonna have a reaction to Chris's kidnapping. After thinking about promo and reading others' speculations about the next ep, i don't think that it will be a real evil kidnapping anyway (why would they show Chris on their couch in the promo in that case, they would try to highlight that he is in danger, not show that he is okay in a promo). So i want Buck in the storyline (like i think that considering the previous seasons, Eddie should call Buck to ask if Christopher is not with him - because theoretically he can compare the situation to s4 where 'Christopher freaks out about Eddie dating' and 'goes to Buck's' - like he is probably too old for this, but anyway). But i also think that if it really is not a real evil kidnapping and Abigail just decided that she can help Eddie this way (very questionable thing to do btw), then it makes sense to include Buck in the aftermath of it all, like in 9x11 or 9x12 when Eddie is probably gonna smother Chris even more and Chris who we established as a teenager who wants more freedom is not happy with this. So i think it makes sense to show Buck interacting with Eddie and Chris in the aftermath to help.
Because why else would they suddenly do something with Christopher in danger if not to trigger something. Because last time Chris was in danger or missing was in s3 in the tsunami and we all know what happened after. Especially considering we are now in a stalemate with Buddie where they are not acting normal but also aren't doing anything about it. And also is it really a coincidence that they decided to do it in 9x11?
