I found your stuff recently and I wanted to ask - is there a ref for everyone's kaiju forms? If not, are you okay with tentative designs? I wanna draw some monsters but idk where you stand on that sort of fanart

The only Monstrum that has a kaiju form is Bitterbat since he's an Alpha Monstrum (updated teeth here and updated chest marking here)

the other Flavor Four only have monster forms (that I've only drawn as bust shots)

But I'm fine with people taking guesses if they have to in fan art since I am slow at designing full bodies of stuff

What kind of doctor are your respective doctors? It's a couple of weeks out from the match (the big "did you get a residency, and if so, where" time) and I'm curious what everyone chose to go into!

Luz is in internal medicine, he’s both a family doctor and a surgeon. Basically, if a dryad sees him, he’s going to be a jack of all trades who handles almost anything they need and arranges for care by others as necessary, but if a human sees him, they’ll be on an operating table.

And also before anyone makes a joke about tree surgery - he is also trained in that.

Renwick is an anesthesiologist and a pharmacist - the second one for similar reasons as Luz - if a dryad sees him, he’ll handle any medication they need, if a human sees him, he’ll be asking them to count backwards from a hundred.

Ani and Adler have been veterinarians, EMTs, nurses, etc., - they were only briefly actual on the ground doctors before going back to school, post grad, research, and finally tenure. When they were actual doctors they worked in a hospital and were just very flexible generalists who helped with whatever.

Stumbled onto your blog when the "prisoners banned from reading" post crossed my dash. Have you heard of Andrew Yang yet? He might be an interesting pick for president this round - I'm curious what you think.

Almost hate to say this, but I wonder if he isn’t running for 2024.  He is hitting the optics for the older wing of the party (Hangin’ with Unca Joe) while offering a $1 K a month living money, which is way too small for serious, but perfect for getting the conversation going.  The rest tho is a void.  What are his values, is he just an embryo Bezos?

Wait, I'm confused. In one ask you said the creatures would starve to death if they just agreed not to eat the person because they can't make a new pact, but then in later asks you've said they can make multiple pacts.

they can’t move on to fulfilling the next pact if they don’t complete a pending pact or pass it to another creature. if they can’t take the next person, they starve. meanwhile, the people in line who should be dying get stuck in immortality limbo until the creature dies. its a train wreck and its the reason why a lot of creatures are cautious about taking on several pacts at a time.

not that starving is in any way close to the norm. if all it took was feeling sad about the nature of the pact to make them go on a hunger strike, then they would be extinct already. death is a thing that happens. their visitors are going to die eventually anyway. they get to see them in the dreams and keep their memories and take care of them to the end. it would take a very clingy creature to want that and more from a person until they literally starve to death fawning over them.

Philo! When did he develop wings? I remember most of his looks are from teleportation magic, but I'm curious how he developed a mental image of himself with wings.

Ooo, neat! I'm very curious how their jaws work, though - I remember the bunflower eating a strawberry and it doesn't quite match up to this new development, at least imo?

My goal was to try and create something that matched that to a degree actually - they are so absurd it’s quite the engineering challenge, but the basic idea is still that their faces open like a peeled orange with each segment of their radially symmetrical face containing one eye, one ear and one jaw set.

I’ll probably iterate on this as I think of ways to make that work.

I might try something less hinge-like for the eyesocketjaw - maybe they don’t even have any facial bones, just a box for their brain with holes for nerves and their face is just a fuzzy octopus. Afterall, that was my solution for their teeth even in this version - their teeth are free floating, I left them out to avoid busy confusion.

I was wandering through your art and saw Eleanor again, so I felt the need to let you know that not only does a person with her body type exist, there's also a person with her hair - my S/O has dark brown hair with lighter blond streaking around the front/top of his head. 100% natural. I will admit to being jealous of it.

That’s so cool! I always intended Eleanor’s hair to be natural but didn’t have a reason and if anyone asked I was gonna be like “I dunno, magic maybe” so I’m glad I can just say sometimes it happens!

As a species, Saratoans have the confidence of a creature with no major predators and can mess up anything that gets desperate enough to try, and the indifference of a creature who isn’t a predator themselves. Now, this says nothing about individuals, who can be anxious, bad tempered, etc., and they have complex social interactions to worry about - but as an outsider observing them, you’d get a definite image of them as an entire species that doesn’t give a shit.
