Potted Plant in Old San Juan. 🇵🇷 12x16 oil on canvas I mostly paint from photo references that I take, but there is a large discrepancy in the colors that your eye sees and the colors the camera captures. The best thing to do would be to paint from life, but that requires packing up my supplies, transporting them, taking them out, cleaning up once finished, etc.... So instead I resort to taking notes on the colors when I take the photo and then make sure I’m not just copying the photo when I paint. I want my painting to turn out better than the photo. OSJ KOUMI100（2022.10.9～10） 100マイルレースのサポートで小海町に。 行きがけに寄ったお蕎麦が絶品だった。 今回は「ファミリーロッジ宮本屋」に宿泊。 雨だったからキャンプじゃなくて良かった。

夕方、2周目を終えた友人を無事に送り出す。 夕飯後、緊張と体調不良で直前まで寝込む。 深夜、一緒に4週目をスタート。雨はやまない。 5周目、ニュウで体が動かなくなり敢え無く棄権。 ペーサーの役目を終えるが、友人は一人で進む。 祈る気持ちでゴールで待っていたら無事に帰還。 安堵と感動と罪悪感と悔しさとで心がとても乱れた。 任務を完遂することはできなかったけど、 エイドのサポート含めて良い経験ができた。 完走した友人と支えてくれた家族に多謝！
