At home
14/03/16 it was Monday, aren’t they just the most tiring day back to work?! I make sure I shower after work as soon as I get in to release all of the tension and Monday blues. On a good note, there had been another gap of just over two weeks in the cycle of nose bleeds. The reminder of HHT came just as I was getting out of the shower at about 7:30. It just started pouring. What’s sad about bleeding at home is how it ruins the quality time I have outside of work. Ahh well!!
26/02/16 At home. I was thinking today, I hadn’t had a bleed for absolutely ages. My day was pretty stressful at work because I needed to travel to a different office by foot half way through my day. I was under some pressure because I needed to post some documentation after the office visit but I only had an hour to do it all. Even when I made it to the post office I was messing around trying to find a big enough envelope to fit it all in. By the time I walked out of the post office I was exhausted. On top of all of that I made my way back to my office to do more urgent work before I left. When I left work I was pretty wired and felt as if I was physically buzzing so I called in at the local caffe to pick up a coffee to calm down and relax before I get home. I sat there for about 20minutes. I didn’t want to take my stressful day home with me. The coffee break was glorious and it was exactly what I needed. So I made my way home to do some more relaxing on the sofa. I got in and made my way to the bathroom for a shower. This is when the bleeding started and didn’t stop for about 45 minutes. It got to the stage where I was considering calling an ambulance because I had lost so much blood. It was pumping out like a tap! Probably the worst I have had. However there was some fancy blood artwork going on in the toilet that caught my eye after flushing. Every cloud… On reflection it was strange how I had quite a stressful day but I didn’t have a nosebleed until I began to relax at home. It was as if the stresses of my day poured out of my nose as blood. Disgusting right! To say HHT is not debilitating is an understatement.
10/02/16 today was abit of a challenge. Well, more of a challenge than most. I had three bleeds in total and they covered the morning, and afternoon at work then one in the evening at home. The most debilitating thing about this condition is how it stops you in your tracks without warning at any time. Then each time it’s over, you need to pick yourself up and go again. You get used to it after a while but it isn’t half frustrating. But look at the positives. At least I can still work and at least I have play-back TV ;)
At Home 08/02/16 5am. It was early in the morning, an hour before my normal time of getting up. I was in bed but it was hot and stuffy in the bedroom. My head facing down on my pillow and I woke up because I remember something trickling down my left nostril. I rushed to the bathroom holding my nose and as soon as I got to the toilet I removed the pressure and it started to gush out. I was by the toilet for about an hour. Before you knew it it was time to get ready for work. To say I was tired through the day is an understatement. I had lost blood and it's just tiring to continually be in an emergency to help treat the condition. Ultimately my work could be affected in the day because of how much energy the condition takes out of me. I hope that it does not get any worse. It's already debilitating enough. But I get on with things and try not to let it hold me back.
At Home
22/01/16 22:03 I was on the phone laying on the bed face down. I needed to stop the conversation because I felt my nose run. It could have been the pressure I was putting on my head. I didn’t think it was a bleed until I blew my nose and it was evident it was more than just runny nose. I walked into the bathroom to sort the mess out. Although it wasn’t that bad it still interrupted a conversation I was having on the phone, I hope it doesn’t happen every time I try to catch up with my friends.
At home
02/01/16 Nosebleed when washing my face in the evening with warm water. It may have been caused by the warm water or perhaps when I leant my head over the basin which would have increased the blood pressure in my brain.
On the tube
23/10/15 11pm Following Friday night after work I met some friends and we had a few drinks. After a curry I made my way back home by tube. I knew I had a bleed because the minute I got on and sat down I felt blood pouring down the back of my throat. Disgusting!! I only had a few small tissues to hand so I knew if I leant forward it would end up on the floor. I was trying so hard to not make it obvious to other people but the blood soaked tissues and hands told a different story. I had to get off at one point because the blood made me sick. I was so relieved to get home, wash my face and clean up.
