Alright further development of this. Space monster mode is mostly the same, floating around in a sparkly pearl cloud looking like a galaxy.
For the humanoid body, I really want her to be regal but monstrous. I don’t really want it to be so clear-cut between her two “modes”, but I’m not really sure how to go about making her scarier. Maybe a scary personality will be enough. Though I would like her to have a creepy mouth, mollusca don’t have much by the way of mouths (based it a bit on an octopus anyway, she has really straight uncanny valley teeth).
Anyway I based her outfit on 1600′s fashion just because I love this totally unrelated theory. It works really well for incorporating things like the wide conch headpiece (kinda like hairstyles of the time), floopy snail flaps (cuffed sleeves), scallop eyes (jewellery) and “lips” (neck ruff). Brought snail antennae into her eyes just for kicks, not really based on anything. Her bodice is based on a crab’s stomach just cuz it worked with her multiple arms. I wonder if she should have eight arms like an octopus? But that might just over complicate the design.
I changed the oyster to look more like a Pinctada. Pearls are born from its shiny walls rather than the womb thing I had last time. More accurate to how nacre actually works, though I still like the idea of them coming from her body. I couldn’t get that idea to work the way I really visualized it though. I imagined her whole torso splitting open vertically and this tiny pearl floating out.
Her gem is based on osmena. Maybe that’s her actual name... Also, what could her weapon be?
