OPIE SPEAKS: NEWCOMERS
There's something about spring's transition into summer that brings forth all sorts of new people to this place. Hale's not New York City or Los Angeles, but I can guarantee we reel in a larger amount of searching souls daily. It's exciting to meet someone on your usual route to Monkeys or collide into a strange while walking past Cavalier Industries. It's the mystery of this new soul that draws us in.
But new faces and new friends tend to shake the surface. Have you ever seen a man look at an unfamiliar woman, but in his eyes there's something floating there- a memory of someone else? See, newcomers tend to shake the surface of our every day lives, whether it's good or bad. And a surface disturbed is one that can break.
Why am I making this post? Because I ran into a girl this morning who looked a hell of a lot like my little sister, and it was a little terrifying- and because I want to know just a little more about these newcomers, about the effect they have on our Hale alums. Have anything for me, Hale?
